Project : Got Chrome

well i am waiting on some putty to dry on the lightning, and i wanted to play with the air brush, so i though i would paint one of my recently aquired trucks.

so i took it apart and went to see what all paints i had, and this one stood out, so i laid it down for the base coat, got a few areas that need some more coverage, but you get the idea.
not sure on what i am going to lay over this, but here she sits now.

Good start. I'd go over everything with more silver/chrome. Yellow is showing through in a lot of places.

yeah this is after about 4 coats, i like to lay them thin and do a bunch of coats. but definately will be laying more coats on it. and chrome trim enamel is what they call it.

hmm. it would be nice, but i am not sure on that one. it would probably take a bunch of clear to get any real recognizable reflection. it's not exactly like the chrome plating that models come with. would be cool though.

lol.. that would be funny. but i have no one to race

. i've been pondering what colors to throw over this. im going to a hs today, so i will see what they got.

Like everyone have says the yellow is showing through but that is your first coat,lol zippo another project?

lol, well like i said it was just after a few thin coats. now she should look better. and of course another project. i get bored easily. so i have to stay busy

update time: think i got the last coat done one the base color. now its time to start phase 2. i have a couple different colors i want to throw over this, but i will have to see how it goes. i picked some up today so maybe later tonight or tommorow ill get something thrown down. heres some pics

got a few coats of the next color on it is dark green pearl. still have a few coats to go to even out the color. but i am liking how depending on how the light hits it, depends on how the color shows. well heres some pics

thanks man, its turning out great. i am using a snap on double action, internal mix, bottom feed airbrush. ill never go back to rattle can.
