Default New Xmods Fall 2010

I contacted Radioshack for my yearly "Are there any new Xmods to be released soon?" question. Here's what I got. Nothing earth-shattering, but encouraging non the less.

Quote:
Dear John,

We appreciate you writing to us. We won't have anymore Xmods until the
Fall.

Thank you,

ya I am concerned about bodies as much as chassis. I want a completely redesigned chassis, thus starting a new series. possibly called....... Xmodsunlimited.

If its very much a newly designed chassis, not like a Evo Front End with Gen 1 Rear or Gen 1 front with Evo Rear (reminds me of a project) then I'll pick one up perhaps.

It's really anyones guess at this point what or "if" we see something. Radioshack has got to step-up and go big because the current Xmod system isn't really shattering the sales charts. I see no reason for them to release anymore Evo chassis cars. Sales will peak upon release, then stores will be left holding a lot of stock to sell at discount prices. Doesn't make good business sense.

If the Shack wants to stay in the Xmod business, they have to roll-out a new product and suck us all in. Xmods is on life-support vs other rc platforms.

Is it possible they pick-up the X-24? http://xmodsource.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18583 I think it'd be a probable idea. However they also may have something else hiding behind another curtain.

Start emailing Radioshack and showing interest again!

"Hi Radioshack! Me and my friends would like to give you a lot of money if you'd release a new Xmods line-up! Think you can help us with that?"

they would be stupid if the car is not AWD.If its 90 euro then everyone would just buy a mini z for that price.

i actually think the streets were better than the evo's except for the non-switchable crystal thing.
and around me (st. louis), they sold pretty fast. they were all gone about 2 weeks after being discontinuing. had to go all the way to Hawaii to find a z06, and it was the very last one they had in stock.

i think to bring these back would be good for radioshack. they do sell, even to non-hobbyists because they are still pretty cool as just a toy

hey aquaman, do you have an account for XMF? you could post this there too

Time to email bomb again. Just to double check. And to check if the trucks are coming back.

Well, I got this rather saddening message.

it's simple though... the subject taiwanesekid used. It clearly reads "need help finding a product". So they'll forward it to whomever deals with the current inventory, not the people in charge of future product planning.

Also, my guess about "foolish child" is taiwanesekid editing his name out of the email, nothing else, otherwise if it were really written that way, someone could lose their job, cause we know their name and position.

As mentioned before, what the future of xmods will be is anyone's guess. Only the people of Radio shacks buying team know possibly.

So far the track record for xmods lately hasn't been shattering. They release a new set and 3-6 months later its being discontinued and marked down at clearance prices

Maybe around the end of fall before the holiday season we may see something. For now just enjoy what we have now
