Default Motor problems

Well, I just recently ordered a speedy 07 bb motor for my evo, my evo doesnt have anything but bearings right now.

Anyway, I took the speedy 07 out the the baggie that it came in and tried to run it, and it really didn't go very much. I had to keep giving it a kick start by spinning the wheels with my fingers and even after that it just spun the wheels very slow.

So I tried to take the motor out and run it by itself. Same result, I would have to spin the pinion with my fingers to make the motor spin, and after that it would spin very slow. It was also making this chattering/rattling noise for awhile at first, but after running it for a minute or two that rattling went away, but its still very slow.

So, does anyone know whats wrong with my motor? Or did I not do something I was supposed to?

Thanks in advance,
Randy

when you spin the motor by hand do you feel any binding? its possible that the motor was assembled to tight. and what batteries are you running?

I suppose it feels like it's binding. It feels a bit stiff when I spin it. Also ian using the normal 4 radioshack rechargable batteries.

Sorry about double posting, but if it is binding and assembled too tight, should I take it apart and try to put it back together less tight?

Or does it require more powerful batteries? I'm using the green nimh radioshack ones.
