lithium is not recomended for mini-z , they do make a lithium ferrite battery set but for racing its just not needed

for better handling you can change the camber, toe , spring rate and droop on all four corners so the car can be set to any driving surface

but the most important will be tire choice
also the right motor , dont just go for a fast motor touque is what you need for a track car

if you want speed stick with xmods. if you want a car that handles great and can handle reasonable speeds get a miniz. and its all personal preferance, and depends if your going to be racing if so then what class?

But what do you mean by class?

also does an LM body fit the MR-02 chassis?

Thanks
mike

There are stock class or mod class, and a few other classes.

The LM bodies will fit on MR-02 and MR-03, they are 102mm wheelbase.

ok well a few more questions what are these and what do they do to the car ?
ball diff with extra spur and pinion gears
alloy motor mount
T-plates in various thickness
various front bars to adjust width and caster (adjust stability at speed)
alloy knuckles with some camber
bearings(similar to xmods i guess )

Thanks
Michael

Ball differential, (it helps the car move) change to different spur and pinion gears will help with top speed and acceleration.

Alloy motor mounts helps the motor to run cooler, and different motor mounts allow you to mount the motor in different position.

T-plates helps with the handling of the car.

Wider front end will be more stable on high speed, narrow front end will be less stable on high speed, but will get better steering response.

Alloy knuckles with camber also helps improving the handling of the car. Camber helps on cornering, negative camber will decrease the chances of flip while the car is cornering.

Bearings helps the car to run smoother.

Cool

Hey dude
I know the guys that run bleedingedge racing ( nt naming any names )
And one of them built me a awd mini z because I traded him 1:12 pan car.
If you don't want to have anything to fast then stick with a pn70 turn. Its the stock class motor and it fast enugh but if you want moore speed then use a atomic stock. I recommend using Orion 900mah cells for practicing and Orion sho750mah (super high output) for racing or doing timed runs on the how fast are you? the lower the nah the more punch in most batteries. And now, tires
Tires are soo important so you need the right ones that suit you.
Of to like the front to push a little the experiment with different compounds.
Set up is also key, but don't just go out and buy every shiny part of aluminum you can find because this is not allwYs the best option.
But so you can abuse your car you shout get some aluminium nukles of some degree ( forgot what mine are ) and youl probably need some different spring rates as well. And the body either needs to be a lemans sort of one or get a vds ( I prefer the short awd chassis ) so I. Guess that's the short mr03 aswell. I like it short so I can get around tight tracks and with it being shorter it's alot twitchier ( < is that even a word?) and will spin eisyer.
I know I rambled on loads and there was not much detail but I hope I helped
Mikey

caught up with this thread and figured since I'm the one selling you a MR02 package i'd chime in on what some of these extras ive sent you do...

The ball diff I've sent is a moderately light model (PN ti shaft/ceramic ball/64pitch gears) that really works well at transmitting power on throttle out of corners. It tends to be really smooth but be sure not to overtighten it because you can groove the diff plates and make the diff action inconsistent. Ive also sent some replacement 48 pitch pinion and spur gears.

Thealloy motor pod essentially allows for better motor cooling and the ability to mount motors with threaded mount holes.

The 5 different t-plates will adjust the rear pod/axle flex for your driving conditions. Ive always been a fan of softer rear setups to keep the rear wheels planted through the corner but some people like harder rear flex to allow a little rear steer...with practice and track time you'll be able to figure out your suited driving style.

I sent 5 different front spring sets to allow for a wide range of soft to hard feels...the track condition (bumpy/smooth/turny/etc...) will dictate your prefered choice.

The front knuckles are an Atomic 1degree camber type that i feel are the most consitent actual camber (checked on a guage )

I sent a bunch of tires, premounted rear wheels and premounted front wheels for you to dial in track grip condiitons.

The three different tower bar setups vary for the body styles. I sent it with the PN 0.5 caster installed becasue that was my favorite way of running the McLaren F1GTR. It made a very pointy car a bit more stable though mid to high speed corners. There is also a standard tower bar set from Atomic if you feel the need to increase steering speed for really turny courses. The Wide front end system from reflex Racing gave the ability to run narrow offset wheels on wider bodies, thereby decreasing suspnsion jacking with the wider offset wheels. Try the WTF on the VDS body and those silver 0 offset rubber fronts and extra wide white foam rears and you'll see an amazing front and rear grip combo in the right track conditions.

If you have any more questions i'll be sure to check in here again....

Cowboy.

It doesnt really matter whether you get a whitebody unless you like racing white cars or enjoy your own paint work. I tend towards the real race car look so I like autoscales.

You can pretty much make any body fit mr02's but some are really narrow and dont fit well around the battery tray and front towerbar areas. You'll find for example the F1GTR body i sent runs best with -1 offset fronts becasue its scale is a really narrow front end. Certain older cars are a bit narrow on MR02's but most of them fit fine. I think minizracer has a compatibility list somewhere.
