Lightbulb Self-made External "turbo"

I want to make my own similar to the v2.2, spider, nelly and others.
Could radioshack supply me with all, if not most of the required components?

I want to make my own for experience, cost, desire for hotter motors.

I will not intend to hurt businesses, but for personal use, and will not sell them for financial gain.

RS doesn't carry mosfets.
You could get solder and wires from there.
Also the "turbo's" you mentioned are on a printed circuit board, I'm not sure what you could use in it's place.
It sounds like a "tricky" project, a mosfet stack would be much easier, but of coarse that's less fun.
Good luck with the project, and if it works be sure to post some pics.

You could make a nelly or external turbo easier then a V2.2 board which is a lot more then just a turbo. But yeah you would have to make a circuit board. There are some websites that will make them for you cheaply or you can make your own, but without the printed board it would have to be a bit larger. You can't buy what you need from RS.

I'm pretty certain that I could make one but it would be larger like XXX has stated unless I had a printed board.

How are you planning on doing this?

Thanks for the info. I am thinking of doing this during my spring break. Hopefully I can someday make an external turbo for less than thirty five dollars.

Any transistors at Frys electronics?
I'm going there on wednesday to pick up a roll of magnet wire and am expecting materials that can help create my "turbo".
