Default I Laid out all my Xmods. Holey Crap

Woah. I have been playing with these for around 3 years now. And well... I'll let the pics talk

http://s22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...shuBeef/XMods/

There is a link to the photo album. I welcome any comments, questions...and if you'd like some of it, give me a pm (please don't post with offers, since this is not a BST thread)

Does anyone have ideas for projects I could do with all of these parts?

I have a couple projects in mind--one of which is how I modified a chassis to accept the long wheelbase of a 1:25 eclipse, which is also painted. That is all set and ready to go--maybe I should get pictures up, eh?

but right now I am more inclined to sell them. They have been a great way for me to start RCs, and I have gained much knowledge about them. I think you guys have seen my Tight turns mod and photo thread--things that I did because of what Xmods got me to do: tinker and experiment

I've been in it for just about 3 years, and I still have the same 3 xmods 1 gen-1 (now still in the midst of the DMX_Dragster project), 1 Evo-truck, 1 evo-car...

You sir, have a small plastic goldmine of parts

Haha guys thanks for the comments. But I don't want this to become a BST thread--please if you are interested, just send me a PM.

Are you guys familiar with the atomic mods BB can? I have one, but the brushes are broken--and need a new set. These are actually specially designed brushes, but I don't know if it is worth shipping from Hong Kong a set. DO any of you use this can?

I believe BLT uses them. The guys with super quick xmods love'em, the endball based off the larger scale motors and such, they run really well.

Mooshu RCmart sells them.
I can send you a set of carbon Atomic quick-release brushes for free.
Drop me your Addy in a PM, I can send a little letter this week.

Texan is right, I do only use Atomic quick-releases.
I did buy a M1 endbell shili can for a plasmatomic, that mk2friggincompressor has had for 6 months now...

How are the chili cans? I use a 1:10 scale, and can't really believe they shrunk that technology with the springs and brushes and such... pretty cool stuff.

BLT you made my day

The endbell is great. I don't think the can is much different then the standard EGR can, aside from vents. I reccomend the endbell only to those VERY serious about their rides. Its too high quality to be bashing around with.

The different brush springs are designed to a) reduce friction, and b) reverse the "arcing" effect found in standard, and even the EGR style brushes. So, by cutting the friction, and eliminating powerloss from brush imbalance, you get around a 10-20% increase in motor efficiency.

So, if you think you can slap it in their, and go drive around in the school parking lot, think again. Its precision technology (thats why its so ****ed expensive), and needs ideal conditions.

Oh, and thats quite a collection you've got there

Later,
RedSXmodder

Make a hobby grade Gen1 or put a Gen 1 board into the Evo chassis.

It was gathered through the years, definitely over $400 spent on this...

It was worth it, I'd say. Only I wish I got into 1:10 scale much earlier because the larger scale is better bang for your buck, though the stuff can be expensive... Buying used is awesome for deals.

Though tweaking with this I learned some valuable things about physics and electronics and painting, and that I am pretty good at fabricating various things.

I have 1 truck chassis
2 non working evo boards
2 non working Gen 1 ESCs (I can fix them into one since one has a servo problem, and the other has a receiver problem

2 working Gen 1 ESCs out of chassis

1 complete chassis, replaced FETs
1 chassis that was extended to fit a Mitsubishi Eclipse 1:25 scale

Update:

I recently finished the body of a Mitsubishi eclipse that was 1:25 scale. I had to extend the gen 1 chassis around a centimeter to get the wheelbase to work, and now it looks great!

Pics soon...
