Default **** yeah Jeep! '95 Grand Cherokee Laredo

Got an offer to buy a 4x4 Cherokee for a grand. Went to check it out, and it ended up being a Grand Cherokee. Not quite as badass, but I goto open the hood, expecting to see the venerable inliner when I notice the valve cover.

"Wait, why is the 4.0 slanted-- **** YEAH V8!"

318 V8, auto, full-time 4wd with 4-lo. New tires, brakes, radiator. It was cheap because the owner thought the a/c compressor had seized up totally, and had it towed to a shop. They wanted a grand for the job, and he didn't want to dump the money into it. Turns out, while yes the compressor siezed, it can spin freely if the a/c is off. All's good and he knew it wasn't going to be worth that much with out working a/c. A motor mount is broken. Drove it right home with no issue.

Promptly took it offroad, and got home to a leaking water pump.

Mainly the job is to flip and sell this one. The Chevy will go back to Houston to have it's OD trans finished up over the next month or so (Builder didn't get to building while I was on xmas break). I'll drive this in the mean time, and flip it around summer time probably when a/c is in demand. Other than that, a new toy and mah 1st 4x4.

That interior is immaculate! Looks like a nice candidate for a quick flip...kudos, thats a really nice find. Fix what little is wrong with it and clean it up good (full detail for retail, lol) and I bet it'll sell FAST.

It's really clean inside. The only issues are the headliner is letting loose here and there (not falling), little bit of wear on the driver's door panel, and the front wheel indicator lights on the vehicle information center don't light (displays what axles are in use).

The new water pump and compressor are on. This thing lost an impressive amount of coolant while still staying at a normal running temp. If there's one thing to be said about the Jeep's cooling system, is it's beefy.

Amazingly, this thing is a bit smaller than the CST10, easier to drive around in town. Adventure time is tomorrow!

I'd say, that shorter wheelbase would make for an easier drive. Be sure to post pics!

It's almost the exact same wheel base as our old '98 GMC Jimmy. Still a very tight turning radius even compared to the Jimmy. Hardcore Jeep fans write off the GC as a mall cruiser (It was the 1st Chrysler designed Jeep), but it gets things right right in all the right places. And is smooth as hell for a solid front axle truck. Hard to not dump money into a little budget 2" lift and 30" tires.

I always thought of the Cherokees as more luxurious Jeeps. They still have solid Axles, 4x4, and a a V8, so they're still much more capable than some SUVs. They're also a good deal more comfortable inside than a Wrangler, lol.

Snow drifting rules!

Except being lifted it's a littler scarier... specially those dry spots...
