Default Bębę

After being inactive for basically 2 months, I'm back

I lost my other project thread for this car, as I forgot what I called it. So I decided to integrate some thought in to my new project name, and it means, see ya in Icelandic. My license plate for this car is going to have Bæbæ on it, as all the people behind me on the track will see the phrase, see ya. My dad was born in Iceland, and my grandparents speak Icelandic over English, and thats your background info.

Here is some pics, some of you may have already saw it, I've said it already, I don't remember the name of the old thread, or even if it is on this forum.

Specs:

Micro-T Board
PN racing Mini-z Rear Pod
Gen 1 Carbon Fiber chassis
2S Lithium Ion Square Kit
Carbon Fiber upper deck
Ceramic Bearings
Disk Damper system
Tires
New painted rims
Upgraded differential

and much more to come.

It took me forever to get this started, and the measuring for the rear pod took forever as well. If I measured wrong, I screwed it in wrong, and it would have turned sideways.

Watch out Red

Pictures in chronological order of the project:

I'm yet to mount the servo, and the 115mm wheelbase poses an issue so I am either going 1/25th model body, or getting my hands on some lexan.

Enjoy

Looks interesting, but IMO liths are a tad too much. My only concern here is DDS posts- they don't look like they would hold up firmly and that could cost you the whole DDS. I'd add a small frame of sort to hold it instead.

You touched on one of my next goals

I was going to make a different CF disk damper plate, and make it so 4 aluminum standoffs will hold it up, with thick washers all pushing against each other causing no shift in the standoffs.

As for the plastic standoffs, I have had no issues yet just pushing the suspension. There is extremely slight flex when the rear pod is pushed up from under it.

EDIT:

Yeah, it is about 1mm off in the rear, which im shaving down with sand paper.

Wouldn't call myself an expert, I'm only 13 with limited supplies Make due with what you can, I take apart all my old RCs to scrap parts, and the local hardware store can be your best friend.

I cant wait to see it finished either

Okay, haven't updated in a while and here is a decent update. I mounted the servo, I just need some help figuring out how to reverse the polarity on the servo, because when I turn right, it turns left, and vice versa.

I also touched up some solder joints, and put some deans plugs on the motor.

Heres a video of the steering in action:

I would, but I'm overloaded with school and everything, so I'm not selling anything until the late spring, when school starts winding down.

I bought the batteries themselves (like 30 batteries) , wired/soldered, heatshrinked, and used em.
