Default - Axial SCX10 Toyota Hilux -

I think I'm officially joined the 1/10 club. hno: Here's my first ever hobby grade 1/10 RC, Axial SCX10 Honcho Kit, that just got delivered today. Haven't decide what ECS/TX/RX/Motor combo yet. Here's how far I got up to. Keep in mind, this will be a slow build.

Unboxing:

Now let's get started on bag A:

1 down, 1 more to go!

Both axles done.

Bag A is done, bag B is up.

Put the drive shafts together.

Those metal yokes left a dent on my thumb.

Time for the shocks.

Shock bodies are done, now it need some oil.

All 4 shocks done!

This is one of my goals, buy a complete kit and put it together. That's awesome, definitely jealous.

That's just badass man! Wish I had the money to afford one. Are these pretty slow for crawling in stock form?

I've never built one personally, but I can imagine that patience is a major bonus with building one of these, and paying extra attention to everything. Just take your time, read the instructions thoroughly and don't get frustrated.

It will take a little time, you probably could do it in a day if you stuck to it but I wouldn't recommend it.

Thanks Kevin, it took me a while just so I can afford the kit! The RTR version comes with a 27T motor, for sure that they are not super fast, but still have a nice amount of speed. The motor I ordered is a 45T, still waiting for it.

The hardest thing is to save up for all those expensive parts. Other than that, it's definitely not hard to build.

You are right about that! It's possible to build the whole kit in 1 day. I just took my time on it.

Update: Painted the rims and fog lights.

Matt black rims with gun metal center caps.

Update: Decided to use the Honcho body for now, so I picked up some paint today, and painted the cab and the bed.

Update: So my transmitter and receiver got delivered quicker than I expected.

I waste no time, and have the receiver mounted on the chassis right away.

Then took it out for it's first run!

And a really crappy quality video...
