Are you just painting this car white? I'd add a little more color if it were mine. [metallic red?]

It doesn't matter what you'd do, you still aren't getting a hold of it with any ease. But sorry for the OT merc3des

maybe an arctic blue? Any takers? That'd be sweet, great contrast as well.

That would look sweet if you did a top-to-bottom fade. [blue over white]
Or you could just do a few blue details.

Okay, finally my camera is fixed and I can update all of my projects. Pictures will be up as soon as my batteries finish charging. Some updates are a mini-z board, aluminum skid plate, upgraded springs, and some PN Racing locking wheel nuts. I hope this isn't digging up old threads, I haven't been able to update because of the camera issue. I have also decided to go solid black, blacked out, black on black. It'll match the chassis and just look deadly. My plans are a matte coat of black, and a clear gloss coat. The rims will be blue trimmed, so stay tuned.

Okay, I dropped the 350z body, and.... brought the Mercedes back to life! Heres some pictures, snapped a potentiometer wire on the mini-z board, but other than that it runs immaculate with the Helios controller. I ordered the body, and it didn't have any of the clips, that chinese guy always ripping people off. I had to use a hummer front clip, and part of a mini-z enzo clip.

I mounted the body real low, but there is still lots of room for suspension travel.

Edit: Sorry for the double post. I'm going to hell.

Cool! I think it looks like an authentic track car with that body on it now.

Thanks, I am going to order some parts from atomic, like an adjustable ball bearing differential, and some composite gears. Still working on lowering it like 1-2mm

caution about the differentials:
you have to use the atomic center gears for them to work, and those diffs aren't really that much better. they are utterly unmanageable unless you set them really tight

if you get atomic diffs, you'll need the cf driveshaft, and composite center gears.

Yeah, its RWD right now, because I want it in the RWD modified class. Thanks for the heads up, it will use my CF shafts, which are the same size.

Yeah its gunna be a pain getting used to it It came with no clips at all, so it was harder then expected. I tried your side mounting technique, but the Stencil is like a piece of steel. Glad you guys like it, and it is quite cannibalistic. I'm going to try and measure the COG, buy it seems quite good with the stencil, as the stencil is kind of heavy and keeps it well grounded. I am having trouble with the springs, as sometimes the wheels don't touch the ground, because of catching on the little slit, so I am going for GPM dampers.

nice. hey i got sigged!
well, just smoothen your damper tubes and it'll go just fine.
take a pice of unused plastic and make your own mounting block for the side-mount
you'll need a lot of weight bias on the rear to keep rear traction.
what surface do you run on?

Yeah that quote was just too good to pass up

I am keeping the stock plastic casing in the rear, just to test which increases response, if not I'm going blue gpm.

The side mount can't be possible on this chassis, I broke 2 drill bits trying to drill in it. So I'm using a rear clip idea, I'll post it, its pretty cool.

I run it on an RCP Track at the track I go to, Makeshift RCP in my basement, and maybe a carpet track.

I ordered new rims today off of RCMart and got some 25 degree B grip tires off of atomic. I ordered a lot more GPM, some delrin gears, and the aluminum dampers today. I lowered the car the extra 2 mm. The chassis was originally invisible under the body, but now its nice and low. It's going to handle nicely.

Hahah, its on. Although, I do have a couple of more things up my sleeve, before this thing actually starts racing at the track.

I may cut up the servo mount, and put an HS-55, to reduce jitter, and have super precise steering.

It's not done yet guys.

well, i was thining of gorrilla glueing two pieces of spare plastic onto the chassis so you could drill into the spare lastic instead of the chassis.
the real clip thing is just gonna be really heavy...
omg i thought of something new! you know the two holes on the rear suspension plate?
a bent paperclip could fit there perfectly, and would save a ton of weight.

for rcp-try foam on front and your rubber on rear
for carpet, foam rear, rubber front
