Default G35 Project

So i was just completing my tut (http://www.xmodsource.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11693), when i got an idea. I already have a custom painted black hood on my G35, but how would it look if the doors were also black. I got excited and started right away. here are some pics:

Were you expecting pictures of it painted? well, i'm off to my paint booth now so they will be up soon.

BTW, in the last pic, you can see plastic. DON'T TRY IT. it came right off so i just used painters tape instead

EDIT: This is what happens when you don't seat the tape good enough:

Sorry, but that looks horrible.

It would have been better had you painted the whole top part of the car black, left the bottom red, and maybe a silver pinstripe to break up the two tone.

That would look awesome.

I know, it sucks . If the painting would have been done perfectly, trust me, it would look great.

I've got a suggestion for you to turn that frown upside down. The G35 has the hood, fenders, bumpers, skirts, trunk and spoiler available in carbon fiber(in real life), so why not paint all of those parts black and then mist spray some charcoal gray over the top to get the carbon fiber effect? Or you could just leave them black. Those parts are the only ones affected, so you could make it look like it was design intent.

Thats what I meant, since it is on the door and fenders you might as well paint all of the parts black that can be bought in carbon fiber.

Eh, good tut, but the paint "blech" look horrible. Good tutorial I guess though. You at least took your time to do this and put it up here for us. That's good right?

Get lost already! SI, what happened to the doors? Not enough tape, not taped down enough.

How is it another G35 down the drain? Nothing a little sanding and paint can't fix.

I still say to go with the two tone look, either black on top and red on bottom or vice versa.

I'll do a photoshop here in a little bit to kind of show you what I mean.

the tape wasn't sticking right and kept coming off. I'm prolly gonna sand it and paint the whole thing with a carbon fiber appearance as Surgeon suggested. It'll just give me something to do and a really nice show car!

It looks better, but it is hard to tell because the pictures are so blurry.
