Default GT-R December comp Car

Well my nissan showed up today The original GT-R

My plans were to build this to enter it in the December Competition. Which i still will. How ever i was in a really bad car wreck today, So not only are my funds extremely limited now, but I cant even get to portland to buy the paint i need to get. So the car will be entered somewhat unfinished. (mainly just paint) But anyways heres a few Before shots just sitting on the chassis.

ill post some more pictures in a few. little progress on it.

yea i "got" in a wreck once but i wasn't even driving the truck was parked on the street and some lady was going to fast and lost control and side swiped the truck bad broke the running board mirror and all fenders dented and door, and guess what she just kept going but lucky that my neighbor was out and stopped her. but the silver on the gt-r is cool maybe you should leave it.

How so?

Good luck with your project. Hopefully you'll have everything the way you want it in time for the December COTM.

it looks good in the pictures. but in real life the silver sucks. it has these swirles in it, and is mixed tones of silver. Its a horrible paint job. the picutres are just kinda washed out, so they hide it.

well of course insurance is covering it. But its not like the cut me a check tonight. and that truck was my down payment on my new subaru. which i was hopefully getting tonight, but thats kinda out the window now. only positive side is insurance might pay out more than what i was going to get for it assuming they still have my car in a few months.

Ill be posting new pics up in about 10 minutes!

Update.

Head lights are solid

so with the help of this handle dandy little tool.

i cut out 4 perfect circles to install 2 CCL kits.
Forgot to take a After shot, sorry.

Headlamps installed into the grill, grill installed onto the car, front bumper installed. Windshield wiper installed, and windows installed.

Ill tone down my camera next time so the pictures are not so washed out in the bright chrome.

Ive never had a model kit that the tail lights were clear!! this ****ed me off. So i spent some carefull time with a nice red sharpie, and colored in the tail lights. They are nice and transparent still so the light kit will show threw, but they look nice and dark red just how they should.
installed rear bumper. Skyline badges in the C Pillers, Rear bumper, Tail lights, and Chrome Tail light surrounds.

Dash, steering wheel, gauge cluster, and Rear view mirror installed.

More updates afterwhile.

yeah im recovered from work. but they needed to lay some people off for the winter (slow time of year) so i just volunteered since i was already out. So works out rather well.

My mom gave me the truck like 2 weeks ago. Told me to do whatever i wanted with it, drive it and keep it, or sell it. So ive been driving it because its actually reliable unlike my beater justy lol. Im just glad i needed to move some hay today or i woulda been in the justy. might notta walked away from that beer can.

more update have been added to the car, but its in the paint booth right now drying. Ill post some more afterwhile.

masked off for paint.

Heres the Finished product

Painted grill, Nice GT-R Logo

Rear Flairs Painted.

Added Rear deck, which made the perfect mounting bracket for the rear clip.
Also glue the tail lights down.

Added door panels and ran the wires behind the doors panels so you couldnt see them threw the windows.

"Neatly" tucked and glued everything under the dash and under the hood so it was out of site again from teh windows.

Heres the Final Result.

Low Beams

High Beams

Brights and Lo's Together.

Tail Lights.

Turn Signal

Only thing left that i want to do, is tint the windows. and theres a special paint for it, i just dont have it right now. So that will come in the future. Other wise im calling this project done, im happy with the results
