Default -.-it's a car.

not particularly proud of myself for lettin a dealership convince my parents into buying a tiburon...
but anyways, i'll give ya 2 shot of it i took while i was outside of my tennis club.

still has dealer plates and haven't gotten to getting my lisence plates:
front:

rear:

ok i admit that the rear looks good...but it's still going to be a while until the tib grows on me.

overview:

if you don't believe it's my car, then you're EXACTLY RIGHT. The title is under my parents. once i graduate, they tell me they'll transfer the title to me, and it'll be mine then.

08.
it'd **** hard to find parts and mods that fit it...
can't find any tubro kits that fit, not a complete supercharger kit.
it's hard to find exhausts that fit, and intakes available that fit are only short-ram, v6 CAI (on the 4 cyl), and like, only one really expensive cai made for the 08 4cyl.
the exhausts that i've found that fit all look too ricer-ish and the mufflers all look restrictive. I hear that a NA tibby should run 2.5 in. exhaust and a FI tibby should run 3 in. exhaust, and the only semi-desireably exhaust i can find is by ARK racing and looks to have 1.75 in. tubing

I typically don't like Hyndai color palate, but that black looks darn good! Cool car.

Cheers,
Kyle.

nice car. my cousin had an older model with it, is it an auto a manual? and the black looks real nice, dont worry too much about the upgrades and stuff yet tho, wait like a year or so for that, then you will have the money to buy every thing you need at once instead of just going like one at a time and at times have a half finished car.and plus if you wait more stuff will be out too. just save up for the better stuff.

Haven't i specifically said, it's not MY car, it's my Parents' car.
i personally like the styling, but the drivetrain...it gives me shivers. 4spd auto-fwd. my friend got his rsx type s for 10k with a SRI, aftermarket wheels, and lowered. his is a 5-speed, and totally smokes this one every time

ok, i've got an auto, putting in the ballpark of 110 whp down
he's got a manual rsx, putting around 190 whp
with extensive spending on an NA setup, i'll still only get around 160whp
and with a turbo or supercharger, possibly match or go a bit higher than his whp to somewhere around 220whp. that's what i figure.
but then i've got a 4-spd auto: slow shifts, lower topspeed
vs
5-spd manual: faster shifts, higher topspeed.

only thing i got going for me is less wheelspin during launch.

when he finally gets pics up of his type-s, i'll post them here.
bronze painted wheels, lowered, SRI intake, tinted, white rsx.
i think it just blows me outta the water.

so while he is at 10k for his rsx in total cost so far,
i've already spent an extra 3k buying a new tiburon. no mods on it even, so eh...his just seems so much more cost effective.

i might think of getting one of the CAIs for the 03-05 v6 tibs and fittin that on this thing.

and i go to newtiburon.com a lot. just not registered yet.

there weren't any v6 tibs FS, and the dealer i went to was practically giving them away about 2k or more under any other dealer i went to.
i also needed to take into account the mpg and stuff, so thus, the 4cyl.
oh, and i registered on newtiburon. my sn is RetfirDMX

can you give me a link to that shift mod? i might have to look into it because mine's an 08 and i'm not exactly sure that the older tib tricks work

but it takes a v6 tib to keep up with a I4 civic si...now compare I4 tib vs I4 Si

It's proven that a built automatic has faster more consistent shifts over a manual anyday. Don't know how slushy the autos in the new ones are though.

Takes some Genisis styling I see. Is this the last year for the Tib? They've always been pretty good looking cars, just not too quick.

Maybe in drag racing, but not in road racing.

yeah, it's the last year of the tib. after this there's going to be no more tibs.
in road racing, manual always wins over slushboxes.

hmmm... been reading up on the tibs, and i've read that 04-08 are virtually the same except for the exterior

Oh no for road racing I wouldn't go near an auto, but that's what I was talking about was drag racing.

Manuals are tons more fun anyway.

theres no mod it's learning how to use it the right way. When i had my celica gts with it I use to take my foot off the gas then shift thats the wrong way plus you have to learn when to shift at the right time Im still learning. With all the years the 08 is mostly a different front bumper with head lights and rear bumper. You can make the tib a fast little car i just like the V6 cause it's the Delta and it takes well to bolt ons.Good luck with the car and welcome to the TIB family newtiburon is a great forum alot of good guys on there im bosco72

well, i've heard and read while browsing around that the beta II has more potential. maybe because it take up less space and is lighter, meanin more room for modifications and stuff. i really don't know myself, but it seems like there'd enough room for a twin turbo setup in the 4cyl tib
