Default First Car...What do you Think?

Okay, I was looking for a car and i found this, it's 1986 Honda Prelude Special Edition, It's color is "bayside blue" with a metal flake, this car is in mint shape, from body to motor, to interior.

I will have this car on the road in a couple days. I need to finalize everything throw the insurance on her, and im on the road

What do you think?

that should be a good little car, and in my opinion, don't spend money on wheels and stereo stuff first. make the car a little faster first because trust me, it's no fun having a car that looks good but goes slow, you look like a tool every time. Plus the whole sleeper look is awesome. I would however suggest in getting some good rubber on those wheels, it makes driving a lot of fun.

I like the pop-up head lights... I wish those were still around, theres no reason not to. Most the time its "their unaerodynamic"... But, you shouldnt have to worry about that at night, right? You should be driving sanely

Yeah, I'd skip the stereo and wheels stuff. Put in a CAI. They're only around $150-250. Then save up another $300 and do cams for increased toque. And if you wanna go all-motor versus forced induction, go for headers.

But please, PLEASE do not rice it up! (Haha, Uncle Ben's slogan)

If you want cost effective aesthetics, lower the car (do it the cheap way, cut the springs until you can afford some nice coilovers).

Cutting springs, will cause you problems. Its not recommended, especially with such a light car.

Yeah, I know. But this is assuming that he's not going to cut off a stupid amount. Roughly 1-2 inches of the coil should drop it at a 'decent-respectable' level, but not as low as if it were properly done with quality coilovers.

If he does want to check out some budget lowering springs, I recommend INTRAX branded lowering springs.

Never hack off more than an inch of height off it, thats my rule. Its just thats such a light car, it would be easier to hit a point where the car doesnt have enough weight on the spring, and it pop out. Unless it has a coil over type suspension stock, then he maybe allright with a small cut.

yea....there's someone who works on alot of domestic cars.

honda's use coilovers, as do virtually all japanese cars....the springs aren't going anywhere.
