Default Frankenwagon suspension build-up thread

well....here's the reason I haven't been on here in a week or more. I stole my dad's '94 LGT wagon (he can drive the caravan :-p ), and did this to my wagon:

got some parts ready for install  :

hmmm

8" wide rim.....yikes:

out with the old:

got the new knuckles stripped down, new bearings are on the way:

trying to get the rear diff pinion nut off:

took out the driveshaft, locked the center diff, put a breaker bar on the nut, and proceeded to drive. it just locked the tires. I guess I'll have to try an impact :-\

yesterday, I spent about 3 hours (got locked in.....who'd a thunk they close @ 5?) and most of my paycheck at the junkyard yesterday:

today, with some seafoam deep creep, and this rig, I got the splindle nuts loose:

all of this for those 2 stinkin brackets:

I'll be taking them down to my buddy's place next weekend to sandblast them. hopefully get my superpro bushings ordered very soon.....I can't wait!!!

what are you going to do? only reason to ever be concerned about your plates is if you're doing something illegal or if you have an evo, something that would void your warranty. anything else is paranoia.

and yes, extremely fun. full polyurethane bushings, fully adjustable suspension, 20mm sway bars front and rear, 17x8 wheels wrapped with some sticky 205mm wide rubber, big azz brakes, etc. etc. etc.

it's FT4WD. meaning locking center diff. with the driveshaft on the ground next to the car, the center diff must be locked to allow movement at all.

and no, I will not lay off the decals. more are on the way

it's already pretty quick! can hang with many newer 'sports' cars

need to make it stop and turn before it gets any faster.

but the link LEM G3 standalone ECU is not far off

I should also mention, that I'm upgrading from the old single-piston front brake calipers, to dual piston ones.

a couple hours of sandblasting (would've been less if the @#$@#%^ compressor would've just stayed running ), and you've got this:

the paint is drying now. some rustoleum rusty metal primer, and professional grade gloss black......mmmmmmmmmmmmm
