Default Project 4x4x4 Escalade

Well I don't have any pics of what I started it with, but I do have some pics of the gearing and a video of it running. Things to do to it is put a body on it, clean up the wiring, check solder joints for crossed wire(s).

Still trying to work out some of the kinks in it like the rear steering, but its getting there. It also has articulation.

Some pics and a vid:

Here is a link to the video on youtube, since I couldn't get it to upload on photobucket. let me know what you guys think. Also the battery's were almost dead when I made this.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lB7H-zb5lE

Will get updated pics later.

SWEET, nice gearbox too. Are those spur gears you are using?, you do know that they dont mesh properly with the each other right? The outer gears are a different pitch than the inner gears.

Thanks, Yea those are the spur gears and I know the mesh is 100% perfect but it works great, considering only using spare parts lying around.

Its not to difficult, the hardest part is the gearing and mounting the rear, other than that, its pretty easy.

Thanks, I bet so lol, also you make a good point about time and patience. It took me like 2 hours jsut too mount the rear steering, let alone the other time cutting and building the gear box.

Thats pretty beast dude. What rods did you use for the gearbox to hold the gears? And what body do you play to run? you are going to need a big one lol

Well the rods I used for the gear box are actually the armature inside the motor can, except its been stripped down to basicly the rod. The bod I plan to run is either a f-150 body or a titan body, both of them fit over it, but the wheel bas is slightly longer on the chassis since I made it a 4x4x4.

A small Update, i mounted one of my spare f-150 bodies on it and everything amazingly fits, but barely. Also I put some super swapers on it and I made a set of deep dish rims.

Excellent work, I don't think anyone has actually pulled off using the front gear box on rear. I know we've always talked about it, but never have seen it.

Small Little update, I made a vid of it running in a bit of mud, but I had some slight problems with it, one is the front wheel drive stopped, since my drive shaft is like 1mm or so to short so I will lose either front or rear depending on the terrain. (Any ideas on how to fix that?) Also I got hung a stick at the end of it.

lol Thanks. Actually I went through the puddle today, it barely misses the bottom of the batteries. I will try to make a new vid tommorrow, beause I fixed the grinding in the 4x4 by making a shim and trimming up the gears a bit. So new vid on the way soon (Hopefully)
