you should be able to make one pretty easy for about $15.00 ...

-aligator clips from RS,
-AAA 2S holder (x2) from RS,
-Styrene from LHS,
-industrial strength double sided tape from Lowes,
-Zip ties Lowes,
-Zip tie mounting bases from Lowes,
-Deans Plugs from ebay,
-18g Superflex wire from atomicmods, (or cheaper silcone wire)
-Spare Stage 1 motor,

Mounting Bases, Just FYI: http://electrical.hardwarestore.com/...ign=googlebase

forgive me for sounding like an idiot but what does this do? is it used for testing a pcb board to see if it works or is it used to tune and test minor changes or both?

You don't sound like an idiot. You can use it for both. I mainly use mine for testing boards while im working. Let's say you have boards that are ripped from Xmods or Mini-Z, etc. and they are in disrepair. You can use this, solder on your plugs and wiring...test with a multimeter.. and then check functionality with power without putting it back into your RC. So, many times maybe you do all the wiring, test with the meter and all looks good, but then you waste 30 minutes installing everything in your car and then it isn't responding.... so you have to take it all back out, re-do...etc, etc. This eliminates that hassle. Here are some other ways you can use it.

-test a spare motor to see if it runs (Just hook to battery)
-test a lithium battery to see if it's good or fried. (Just hook to motor)
-test boards for a response that are installed in a car, but have no motor in them, or batteries.
-test if a servo is working.. (just connect to board and hook to battery)
-test electronics in a GEN1 after a tight turn install.
-after installing Lithium, test with the mounted motor instead of yours in the car, to be safe.
-Test electronics with a servo swap for functionality before chassis install.
-test electronics on a Zmod swap before final hook up.
-electronics testing and experimenting...in general for custom builds.
-There are countless ways you can use it....I mean it has everything a car has without the actual chassis. I do a lot of FET stacking, lithium installs, tight turns, and electronics refurb and installs for myself and countless XMS members, So I use this thing literally several times a day. It is great for testing so you don't mess up your actual cars hardware. If you mod at any level it is a great tool to have... I make and sell them, but I also listed in a previous post what you need to make your own.

Im glad you likey. If your willing to spill about $50.00 you can make a nice one like the one I use. A simple one for $15.00... But you have the basic idea, of all the parts.. motor w/ plug, battery w/ plug, tin tipped open wire w/ plug, aligator clips w/ plug.... and then however you want to mount it, your imagination is the only boundry.

thanks for the idea, after seeing this i decided to make one out of plexi-glass looks preaty cool and it has already came to use as i have been doing alot of electronic mods lately. but another thing i did was use 2 lith cells, and used a spare gen.1 alloy motor mount, to well, hold the motor, lol. and i just used stuff i had around the house,so it was very cheap.thanks again.

Very nice. Ahhh lots of testing in your future. The plexi-glass is a good fit for one of these set-ups. Is the lid a box that sits over it?
