Default And this is: Blazer.

Went and picked up our (my...) Blazer today.
1998, 4x4, 4 door, fully loaded, perfect condition.
I think it has almost 140k miles on it, from what I remember, I'm too lazy to check right now...

Anyway, pics.

It's clean on the inside as well.
Besides a little wear on the leather seats and yellow lab hair all over the place from the last owner. We've been vacuuming since we got it home and its still all over the place. haha.

I still can't decide if I want to get this beast muddy or not.
Someday in the future, it will either be dropped or lifted.
Still can't decide which way to go, and have a lot of time to think about it.
I've seen tons of lifted ones, so I'm thinking about dropping it to be different.

But before I do anything drastic, I plan on getting it a little dirty some time before it gets dropped.

It has 138,060 miles on it.

Here's the damage on the seat. It doesn't look as bad in the picture, but its noticeable.

I don't know if I said it or not, but there's a busted place on the console, so here's a pic of that.

I took a picture of the radio that's in it, but it erased itself... wtf. Anyway, here's the Alpine 12 disk changer in the back.

And lastly, here's what I want to do to the seats. Kind of. The middle would be more of the color on the body, but I couldn't really get that.
The black lines were just to help me shading it, they wouldn't be black on the final product. (I forgot to shade the little place on the other side of the seatbelt at the bottom right.)

In case your wondering why I included that last one, I'm on a Blazer forum, and I said something about possibly reupholstering the seats, and they asked how, so I did a quick photoshop.

With forest green and beige your better off getting groceries!

Tons of lifted ones? The s10 is more or less the most dropped vehicle in the world. Much less lifted blazers than dropped ghetto rides.

I mean, I've seen tons of S10 trucks dropped, but not many Blazers... On BlazerForum, most of the Blazers there are lifted ones, with maybe 2 or 3 dropped ones.

$5250. It had a brand new $3000 transmission put in a few weeks ago, new windsheild, tires all around including spare, new brakes all around. Pretty much everything was new on it, as well as it being in perfect condition to begin with, never been wrecked.

I like that color, but wouldn't drop it quite that low.

The nice stock paint makes for a cheaper "Scuff-n-shoot" job as that stock paint is good enough to paint over. It's pretty, shiney, and nice, but god awefuly boring combo. Nothing really goes well with green and beige two tones, at least not that style... Maybe a beige over green two tone that runs the belt line. Then that get's classy. Clean set of wheels and proper leather interior. But, GM's stock two tones were MEHtastic on the blazer!

Removing the side moldings would greatly clean up the sides. Hell, I'd maybe hunt for Jimmy trim, they were much slicker looking.

Little rule of thumb I like to go by for SUV's and trucks.

4 x 4 = lift it
2 wheel drive = drop it.

Why lower a 4 x 4? It defeats the whole purpose, if you wanted something to lower, should have bought a 2wd.

Well, it's easy to lower these trucks. Their really AWD anyways.. Given if you had performance (enough to warrant the need) AWD could be a good start.

AWD is all the time 4wd, not selectable.. to the way I see it.

Blazers like this have the electronic shift on the fly 4wd, with selectable 4 high or 4 low.

Yeah, it would be great if he were going to build it into a twin turbo monster and used it for traction.. but the stock system could not handle that, and it would be easier and cheaper to go with 2wd.

I guess it wouldn't matter much if he lowered it 4wd anyway, I'm sure the most 4wd action it will see is in the snow or on ice.

Personally, I have a 4wd and I like to take it out and do 4wd type of stuff.. like last weekend I took the backroads into a county lake around here, and boy oh boy were they fun.. did some major crawling in the Dodge, I want to go back.
