internal antenne
how to make an internal antenna:
this is easy an easy way to make your car look cleaner and more realistic. first, you have to find one of those cheap fake credit cards that those companies send you in the mail. admit it, you probably have five of them in your couch. trim this down so it fits in your body. you may not have to trim it at all. now set it aside for later now, you will need some wire from an old alarm clock radio antenna, or a sterio system ring type antenna (the kind with the wire wrapped around the plastic ring) take about a foot and a half of this wire (depending on frequancy) and solder on end to where the stock antenna screws on. now get your credit card back over here. use hot glue or something similar to secure the wire to the credit card in a circular pattern being careful to not let the wire cross at any point. you should now have a cheap credit card with a wire spiral on it atached to an rc car. your done! feel free to move this if it is posted in the wrong section...

Are you serious? I though I already posted one. Well, never mind, mine was never going to help anything.
Edit: Pictures would help alot of what it would look like.

ya sorry about the pics. i looked for a thread on how to do this and couldn't find one, so i made a new one. as for the wire, i don't think it HAS to be that type, but i think any other kind of wire would have less range. i have done this mod to my xmod, and the range is not a huge increase, but it is noticably larger. probably about 25% increase over stock range. i will post pics as soon as i have more materials to make another one.
also--- this mod tends to not look so good on the chassis (looks really bad without the body) i have been making higher quality internal antennas that are smaller and look cleaner while keeping about the same range as the ugly one. as soon as i get pics up, i will take pics of both antennas. i am selling the cleaner antennas for 5.00 a piece if anyone is interested. pics soon. actually the one for the miniz works with xmods, but it is expensive

i took an old antenna sniped it about an inch from the springy part (for lack of a better word) then took the bottom of a pop can that i cut out with a pair of tin snips and put the two together with some JB weld to make a satilite inside the car and it gets great range.
sorry i meant "snipped"

DCC, you never replied back with those pictures. I really like this concept. I run my micro t conversion with normal hookup wire (about 6 inches of it) inside my RSX body and it works well. Not extreme range, but ok for my indoor driving. This seems a bit better, but your instructions are unclear.

The length of the antenna is very important: http://xmodworld.com/modules.php?nam...ewtopic&t=5432
