Default XXX Projects. TRI-X CF

***CHECK OUT MY GARAGE THREAD. UPDATED OFTEN WITH NEW CARS AND PARTS
***http://www.xmodsource.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14967

Ill be posting my projects on here. This first one is the TRI-X 3.1 Carbon Fiber Chassis Pro-Kit. This kit is B.A. Check my other thread "Xmod CF Chassis" for the description of what it does. Here are the Diagrams.

*this is not a repeat of my CF chassis Thread. This is for all my projects as they pile up. Yes...... there are more. Mostly Chassis, electronics stuff. I am not a good body painter. SO HERE IT IS. ENJOY..

**I LEFT DIMENSIONS OUT FOR OBVIOUS REASONS***
**UPDATE** Here are some new pictures. I colored the lexan body a clear red so so could see the whole setup. I Have the AAA tray on here for now, but This will have Li-Po and a V2 chip that will slide in the center space over the batterry tray. Also this will get some larger wheels and tires as well as another body that will be painted (Im painting it now, same body-Corvette Stingray) ENJOY

Very nice, can't wait to see more but 1 Q, how is the lexan body to be mounted, with a front and rear clip or with body clips?

Just like this setup from Atomicmods. The parts and pins are right there on the diagram. (the grey thing is the foam bumper.

Yep I know about foam bumpers. I wanted one of those bodies before I had a clue what lexan, body clips, foam bumpers, and bigger and better RC's were.

I dont think bigger is better. I run all kinds of gas and electric cars. Jato, LST2, Estute, miniz xmods. They are just different and offer different kinds of fun. I love tearing it up with my Jato or somthing, But I LOVE the fun of modding small scale cars just as much.

it is based off the stock chassis but is not just a copy of it. My Tri-X 3.1 chassis is designed to take advantage of aftermarket upgrades (specifically liion and lipo) but gives you the later flexibilty of changing your setup without using a diff chassis and the strength and pro look of CF. But you can use this chassis with the stock AAA battery tray if your not ready for lithium. It is very versitile for whatever your setup will be. It is fully adjustable to any xmod body length and also can extend up to an extra 2 inches to fit any 1/24 body length if you use model bodies. All in all it was designed to be 100 percent customable to ANY modders needs, and it's georgeous laminate CF.

well I wanted the complete kit with body mounts lexan body foam bumper, Tri-X chassis, and Tri-X 7.0 1/24 extension kit to be less than a stilletto chassis alone. However I am still working on that and it may not be less. The quote I got back for the pieces to be made was higher then I expected but I am still working and negotiating options with the manufacturer. I'll update everyone as soon as it's worked out. Within the next 2 weeks. Right now with the quote I got back from them I would have to sell them For 60-70$ and I wouldn't even make any $. I think that is still a good price but I would like to see it drop more.

I am a carpenter and I do some drafting. What I did for these prints was I actually drafted them out by hand on graph paper, perfectly to scale. Then I scanned my drawings and opennes the scanned file in paintshop and traced them and filled them. Very simple and easy with a beautiful result.

I have access to AutoCAD 2009 in my high school CAD class, if you need CAD drawings made, I could probably do it.
