Removal of 3M double sided tape (lipoly)
Does anyone know a safe way of removing 3M double sided tape from Evo cars? I have a li-poly kit installed, and ordered a Stiletto chassis that I would like to transfer my li-po kit to. I looked this up and found some ideas, but I'm sure some WD40 + batteries isn't going to end up good. Maybe one of you have done this before?

Your going to have to cut / pull the batteries off first then remove whats left of the tape.
Easiest way is just scratch off.

if you decide to use a solvent, test it first with a OHMs meter. If the resistance it high you will be fine and won't have to worry about shorting the battery.

Read the first post.
I guess I'll do what XMDrifter stated, although I would have wanted an easier, no mess (as in residue) method. Has anyone actually installed Lipo's in a stilletto? |

Yup, I know. Thats why I'm asking if anyone has done it to see how they mounted the Lipos to the chassis.

the way i said works with no resdue....
you slice the battery off first then scrap the stuff off using the blade and goo gone... works nicely and you cant short the battery if its not there...

sounds like fun
ya definatly test the goo gone and if its ok use it cuz that stuff could get the smell of a 4 month old dead bird out of an unfinished tree house like no other (ya it realy worked) good luck

yes lipos have been put in a stiletto. in fact the folks at atomic mods did it. they tested both li ions and lipos. the ions fit better that the polimers because the way the lipos fit, you cant use 4 wheel drive. it gets in the way of the drive shaft. and they don't look as good in the chassis simply because the chassis was designed for use with the ions. thats why they have those slots for that battery.
