1955 Chevy Belair
Hope diecast counts... so last night i was at a party and my mate just gave me this car because he said he didn't want it and he knows i like cars so i was just like, ok cheers lol. with this i hope to build a new chassis from square and circular tubing, put some suspention on it, get some nicer, wider wheels and tyres, put nos bottle, fire extingusher and a spare wheel in the boot, paint the shell candy red or something.
The engine looks like a watering can rather then a V8 and its tiny so thats coming out and the v8 hemi from my mustang project is going in. |

WOW no comments, well i guess this is a xmods forum not model car forum.
Im looking for 5 rear mini-z rims for this as the stocks are more like 4 front drag slicks. 4 for the car and 1 spare to go in boot. This is the stock engine me and the family have called the chevy watering can because...well i think you can tell why. This is the engine taking its place, a hemi 426, was originaly going to be used for the mustang but im glad i didn't cut her up in the end. Just need to find a small scale Hemi badge for the back now...any links? Took the "bird" off the hood becuase i don't like it..looks more like a plane to me but w.e. Sanded the hood and filled in the holes, also there was a lip on the end of the hood too, guess what, didn't like that either so sanded and evened it out. NEXT: Need to get, Hemi badge, Speakers and amps, flocking kit, letherette for the seats, new steering wheel, mesh, leds to replace front lights, mini z wheels, chevy logo badges or water slide decals and maybe a bit of body fabrication. Some of you may know rcWizzard from youtube who is building the 1/4 grave digger, he helping me out to build a new chassis out of metal rods and square tubing. |

Decided to paint the body light green and the hood flat black.
Hood grey primered. Tailgate white primered then wet sanded to get it all level and 1st coat of green on. Also get clear black to tint the windows. I have some sleeve coming for the wheels to make them 1" wide. |

The hood won't clear engines air filter because the engines from the hemi cuda with the scoop.
I just can't decide if i should put a low profile scoop on the hood which would be eaiser or try and find a smaller carbs and air filter so the hood will clear. What do you guys think? |

You can always leave the carbs and weber (blower) exposed as if it was a hot rod; you would have to cut through the hood tho.
But to answer your question I think it would be easier to make the low profile scoop. |

Low profile scoop it is then, now i just need to design the scoop.
I was thinking somthing like the xmods cobra mustang hood but just the center scoop.... |

yeah, I know which one you're talking about. It would definitely look real cool on it.
I really like your project man it's coming out real nice. Please keep us posted with updates, I wanna see the final outcome of that hood with the low profile scoop on it. I think it's gonna look sexy and give it a hint of "muscle power" you know what I mean. |

So i tried painting the tailgate in hawian met blue from a spray can but the paint was old so it had thickend up so i stripped it again.
Iv decided to go with tamiya park green, its a acrylic paint but i never use enamels so i thought i may as well use the paint i have. i primered first then wet sanded to get the primer smooth. Here it is with 1st coat on the original chassis. That blue/gray bar you can see in the middle of the body is the starting point for the cotton bud rollcage lol, i do the same for all my cars, make a custom rollcage and the starting point is always the same. |
