Default traxxas rustler xl5

idk if it's nitro or electric, so sorry if this is the wrong section.

anyways, is the rustler xl5 a good truck to get started into hobby grade with? is it durable? i can get one (and a whole lotta extra stuff) for $100, so that's why i'm asking.

well, i'll only have $104 by friday, so even if yours is worth that much, i still won't have enough. sorry.

here's some of the pics on craigslist. idk if it has a body or not, but either way i'd buy a custom one, so *shrug*
there's three chassis in the pic, idk what i'd be getting.

driving around, body off. i guess i'm at least getting that chassis anyway.

Please try to search a little harder about what you're questioning before posting the thread. A quick Google search would have shown you than the Traxxas Rustler XL5 is an electric 1:10th not a nitro. Moved to Misc. Electric.

Also, a little more search would show you that they are indeed one of Traxxas' top selling chassis/models and have proven to be great RCs.

From the first picture you posted (This One), the grey chassis on top of the image is the Rustler XL5. The black one on the bottom is just a Rustler built prior to the XL5 ESC/chassis. Due to the crappy quality of the second image, I cannot tell if it is an XL5 Rustler or just a Rustler. I see a slight bit of yellow which leads me to believe it is an XL5 Rustler because the XL5 ESC has some yellow while the XL1 ESC (used in the previous version of the Rustler) is black and blue (or black and black, depending on year).

he includes the blue and black motor too.

i actually abandoned his deal, because i decided i'd rather get a wheely king and perform a crawler conversion. thanks for helping me out anyways, guys!

I thought you said you only had $104 a wheely king rtr is $200 then you still need batteries and a charger plus the cost of links, driveshafts, new tires, stuff to set up your servo on your axle, and the rest of the stuff you would be better off getting a ax-10 rtr I saw them on ebay for $250 shipped they have a lot of advantages over the wheely king like better steering angle, straight rear axle adapters, beadlocks, better tires (still not the best), better tranny, a lot better center of gravity (after you relocate the battery),
and more.

that looks like a great deal. When you get it you could probably get like $25-$30 for the spare tranny if you put it on ebay and then that money could get you a battery charger since I cant tell if it comes with any batteries or charger.

sorry for double post

anyways, the guy is reducing it for $110. i was still thinking, "crap, i'll still only have $104..." then it hit me that wadethejuggalo is buying a toolkit from me for $6! i'll have $110 exactly!! dude, i can't thank you enough! i would reduce the price as a thank-you present, but that doesn't really work on my end... i'll be sure to post alot of pics when i get it, probably on friday or monday (maybe sunday). i can't wait!
