you'd spend more money on the xmod making an equivalent than actually buying a mini-z.
well, -ball bearings from http://www.vxb.com/ -aluminum steering rod -aluminum front axles -aluminum rear CVD -lightweight body -shift battery position for more rear traction -avoid AWD -ball bearing motor can -practice,practice,practice! if you want less practice, you'll be spending a healthy 100 bucks more in addition to the above mentioned stuff. just search around for stuff you can do to improve handling. and a little help with fine tuning: http://xmodsource.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14852

I say, go for all the colors. This way, it’ll look like a freakish *** pride car that everyone would be freaked out by and hopefully screw up giving you the fastest time because everyone else was distraced.

no, lithium just makes the thing unstable and uncontrollable, rwd is faster because there's fewer moving parts and less weight and the awd kits available are just not worth it because of all the friction and extra mass that has to be dealt with.
on a track it's more important to have balance, not power

What about locked Diff
But awd provides better handling and then with the suspensions available and the drop kit and Double A http://www.atomicmods.com/ZoomImage....roductID=11015 lithium it would be easier and faster to drive,The awd may have extra wight and unnecessary mass but lithium makes up for it,Plus if i put the stilleto Chassis on it it will way less so its a kinda win win Last edited by DRFTKO; 11-27-2008 at 11:46 PM.. no, it's still gonna be a PITA to drive it fast.
the lithium will give too much the stilleto will make the CG too high, you're gonna flip a lot, the AWD will handle like... well, a 4wd car since true AWD has a center diff for torque transfer f/r. the stock ride height is already about to bottom out and the suspension has to basically run on red springs for the handling to be decent. just cuz it weighs less doesn't mean that it will drive better. you have to know that just adding as many upgrades as you can is the worst thing to do. you have to carefuly select upgrades and gradually find your driving style and buy the upgrades that fit in with your driving style. BALANCE is more important than power, accelleration, or topspeed. and NO LOCKED DIFF! it'll make your car lose tracion too easily when you turn. the result is a horrible handling car. start small. slowly progress. lithium is NOT the answer. stilleto is NOT the answer. AWD is NOT the answer

im sorry but for xmods i cant see doing anything wiht out awd. a rwd hi powered xmod just spins out. the awd has so many more advantages that the slight little bit it slows it from the power going to 4 wheels vs 2 doesnt effect it at all. Im sure anyone would agree with this. xmods need awd.
suspension, and weight ratio and Center of gravity is going to help your car better than anything. Work on fine tuning the suspension, getting practive driving it, and the best bearings money can buy, (wheel wobble sucks) after that then worry about power. nothing wrong with lithiums either they are great. but every racer has their own taste. try stuff, and find what works for you. |

Hey Spr Im gonna start A Team called:Team Side Werks SS.But Xmdrifter Is right about the LOCKED DIFF because i have a rwd locked diff barricade on radio shack Batteries .Its a donut machine and it handles horrible so your right about the awd.But You guys are Going in TWO TOTALLY DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS.Its gonna be a Time attack/Racer Skyline Thats it Nothing More or less.

yes locked diffs are bad, but rwd alone isnt much better. it will still just spin out with a decently high powered xmod. you need awd in my opinon. unless your driving on a very sticky surface.
fyi. its not called a skyline! its a GT-R. the skyline is dead, retired, doesnt exist any more in production. |

no, the skyline R34 was discontinued in 2003. in 2009 they brought you the nissan GT-R. Not skyline. not R35. GT-R.
If you notice xmods on the box lables it as a Nissan GT-R R35. So while they are half right by not labeling it a skyline, this shows xmods lack of intelligence, because nissan does not refer to this car as the R35 Chassis. Its strickly a GT-R. It was nothing but a marketing hype to help sell more. because the nissan skyline has always been like the most wanted, but oculdnt get car in the united states. nothing but a publicity stunt. Other wise it would probably be the new G35. |

well call it what ya want, but its really not a skyline. kinda like calling the nissan hardbody a frontier, or vise versa. they are not the same truck, one replaced the other, no matter how similar they look. but hey atleast ya learned something new for the day right lol.
cant wait to see some pictures. start a project thread once you get it, and keep us all updated. by the way you know this car is on sale tomorrow for 39.99 right? tomorrow only... |

i agree with spr here awd has its advantages and disadvantages advantages: car rides on rails, less spin outs disadvantages: slight power loss, and not as sharp turning radius. suspension: always helps. stilletto,lits,etc..: not really necessary but chassis helps on weight liths i dont think its necessary and if you want the liths you would have to stack fets so you won't run the risk of frying your board. and locked diffs: a no no in track cars unless your like me who had an xmod when they first came out and can finesse(how ever you spell it) a litte drift around a corner, but i wouldn't really recommend locking your diffs.

But I was also thinking of running a mini z board on liths for even more precise control

Maybe I should just by this Car http://www.atomicmods.com/Products/X...mo__12730.aspx and put a Skyline(Or gtr What ever you want to call it) body on it

go awd but buy a carbenfiber shaft. What you do is put it all together but leave out the motor. If there is friction take the shaft out and sand it down a little.Try it again till you have no friction. You don't need a new body if you buy the new xmod street.Only if you get the gen 2 evo.
