Default Team G3.0 Duality Drift

G3.0, yes thats the name of the HPI Nitro Engine Q_Q

I have convinced my friend to join to hobby. He enjoys RC drifting so much, that I have decided to give up SC racing for a while and drift with him. We decided duality drifting would be AWESOME but requires high skill and practice.

I ran my TT-01 at the local track, my friend, new to the hobby, IS A GODLIKELY DRIFTER. He's better than me like dam.

Anyways, my TT-01 i think has an EXCELLENT setup for drifting. It just requires better controlling (by me). My friend drifts it like a charm.

My current TT-01 set-up is as follows:

Stock Traxxas RX TX 4 channel
XL-5 ESC
Stock Silver Can
Volk TE87? Offsets
Sushi Drift Tires and extra set of Yokomo Treaded drift tires
Camber Arms ( broken ) Oops
Brass Suspension Balls
GPM Aluminum Shocks 30WT oil.
Med Rear Springs, Uber Soft springs in front
Adjustable Toe-In / Out links. (currently at 0)
Nissan S15 HPI Clone Body

On Its Way:
GPM Front Upper Arms
Neon Underglow kit (pink)
Aluminum Steering Bellcrank Rod ( less steering slop, more precision )
Aluminum Suspension Arm Holder ( for smoother movement )

Future Plans: (Everything has been ordered :O)

Honda Odyssey Body (black) So If I damage it is less noticable. With the first word of Panda in Chinese on it. The First word of panda is also my last name. It will also have a white stripe on its side to mimic a real panda :P

Full LED System fasho! Complete with working turn signals that respond to steering.

Aluminum Battery Heatsink and Motor Heatsink. Self Explanatory.

Front CVDs for less friction and better travel and to prevent slop.

No Eye Candy for you guys now, but its time for mah homeboy to post his stuff. Updates on my rig in a few weeks, but I will be practicing outside and inside

EDIT: Hate to torture you guys, and my friend is busy so heres some eye candy as we await his post.

Hey I covered up the ugly parts or tried. :P

EDIT2: He left me hanging

Crap, I'll post his car for him...

He's getting a TL-01 series chassis.

His Plans for it are:

White Honda Odyssey Body. I think we have decided to keep our bodies clean now.

Softer Springs and lower ride height

Sushi Drift Tires

Full CVD's

Alum Shaft

Bearings if not included.

His set-up is pretty simple, just to start drifting.

Default Team G3.0

Name is Lmfao/Evan and i was introduced into this hobby by my friend lol/Kevin. My first try at this sport was with Kevin's TT-01. I was drifting at the Nor-Cal drift track and Kevin said that my drifts were godly because i was able to hug the corners. I plan to make a drifter myself. I will most likely be running on a Tl-01 chassis, with a 20 turn stinger motor. Please tell me what i should do to help make my car drift better much love.

1) WELCOME!!!!! i kinda figured u were kevins friend.. ur name gave it away
2) making a good drifter is mostly having the right set-up and the rest is all you, you can drift with a bad set-up also, but its easier with the better set-up, and the set-up is what you feel is right, there is no TRUE set-up.. everything from shocks to camber, to toe-in/toe-out to tires to gearings, its all what you feel is right
3)drifting odyssey isnt as fun as a drifting cappuccino

Not if its an Odyssey Spec-D!!! BTW, welcome to the forum. If you are really interested in this drifting gig, I would definitely recommend using a "Drift Box" A.K.A. a Gyro designed for an rc. It basically balances your counter steer so you dont spin out or lose control. It takes a lot less skill to drift with a Dbox but it makes it so much fun (or maybe Kevin should just get one lol)

Finally.

Like I said, Im used to SC Off-road racing and not drifting. I epically fail at it. And to back up my claim, I will provide you with a 40 sec clip and a 5 minute video. But first, here is my set-up.

Sealed bottom chassis

Front

Elecs / rear

and the vids. Bear with me, I didn't know camera couldn't capture the other 4 turns. There will be periods where you can't see anything. I'm drifting in a SMALL AREA, 15X8 ft rectangle of grass, with about 2 and a half feet of road. On a Slight Upslope. Its not as easy as it looks, at least to me.... here you are.

Enjoy? I doubt it. :P

P.S. You can see me throughout them.

I guess, well have fun learning, oh and I think you should pull that 10t BL motor out of your slash and put it into your TT01 just for the kicks and put it on video, and after that you can put it back on your slash. =P

But TT-01's aren't built for brushless. :'( I might race tmr in SC after-all if I can get me a spur gear, but then I just realized there is one in the Rustler, but then again it is a XL-1 Rustler so I don't trust. Any advice for this drifting noob?

tt-01 can handle brushless if ur running 6cell nimh.. my friend used to have a tt-01 with a sidewinder 4600kv system and even ran 3s with it one, nothing happened

Well hats too bad... But as for that slipper, the XL-1 Rustler uses the same tranny as the Slash. They both run Magnum 272 trannys, the only real difference is that the internal gears on the slash are metal. SO I guess you could use the rustler slipperclutch.

Take a tt01 and put brushless on it and it'll shred your spur gear if you're noit careful. And yes it takes a toknk of practice to do smooth drifts. You've got to catch up. And if he's getting a 20t motor, you should get a 20 pr 19t motor as well.
And check to make sure your esc can handle it.

I swapped to a XL-5 ESC, it handles 20T Stinger no problem. I have my personal 20T, but its burning out already.

Look what I found

Note, the dent, I pushed back out as much as I can, it was REALLY dented. Lmfao should fill you in with those pics later.
