1969 Chevy Corvair
I've been gone for a while, but I just built myself another custom Xmod. The local Radio Shack had 2 cars left (one Barricade, one Bumblebee) priced at $15 each. Naturally, I couldn't pass a deal like that up. And since half the fun (for me) is building the thing, I went out looking for the right car to work with. To be honest, I went out looking for a Datsun 240Z...but then I found this '69 Corvair.
The paint looks a little better in person...lighting here wasn't very good. Also, I had to lengthen the chassis by 7/16" to make this body fit. Last edited by Camaro98; 08-30-2008 at 12:48 PM.. Reason: added picture |

Thanks! I had to try something different with the wheels, the blackout thing wasn't working and these chrome snowflake-type wheels I have were just too much on this car. So I figured I'd just try painting the lips on the blackouts...good to hear that it works

Very nice man, paint looks great as does the ride height, you going to do a mock interior for it?

Thanks for the compliments, guys. I'll probably go back and touch up the detail work, as well as try polishing up the paint a little.
No, no mock interior going in. I did install the dashboard and the rear deck, though. Not enough room for the seats, unfortunately. About the Fairlady Z; thanks for the offer, but I was looking for a plain-jane 240Z. Thanks anyway, though. 123Vette, your uncle had one in this color? There weren't many of them in this shade of blue...most of the blue ones (from what I saw online) tended to be lighter shades. Cool he had one, though....most of the ones I see around here look like the one monsterhunter mentioned...sitting in bad shape. |

That car looks SWEET! I was thinking about doing that model at one time for my car, I got somthing else instead. Those wheels complement the car really well. That lip you put on it is subtle but it makes it look so much better than the all black rim. I would be really proud of that car just the way it looks, those details look really good the way they are I think. Great Job
