well 1st of, it would look more like drifting AND it would be alot easier if you didnt try it on carpet!!
One piece of advice to every1 out there: Dont race your xmods on carpet! It will mess it up and thats a guarantee ! GW22 >>>>>>> |

those help too! Tell you what! I had a G35 b4, and when i just got it out the box, i just put in a S2 motor, with the stock tired on new concrete, it drifted like a queen. And when it was wet, i was able to do 360's !! GW22 >>>>>>>> |

Allright, I (first) suggest that you try to get better at drifting on some surface besides carpet. Like in the real world, if you went up to someone like Rhys Millen and told him "I can drift on carpet!" his response would be something like "What? Carpet drifing? Are you kidding me? Heh, what a joke!". Of course, Rhys Millen is a professional drifter (real cars, with gas powered motors, not electric , but oh well, we do what we can, right?). So I guess the general point i'm trying to make here is that you'll get NO street cred for being able to carpet drift. And besides, once you get down the real drift, you'll be the envy of all your friends . And in my personal opinion, i'd rather watch someone drift on lonolium (hope i spelled that right) or pavement than watch a carpet drifter, but i'm no one to press this on you, since your house is mostly carpet, apparently. What i've found out works really really well is (by the way, props to musclecars4life, great idea about the school gym thing) drifing on like few weeks-old pavement, or freshly oiled pavement, because sometimes during warm days the oil seeps up, and can you say DRIFT TIME??? I did it, its freakin sweet, you should try it too. The last thing I propose is that you go outside and just try (as a start) to drift on your driveway. My friend painted a track on his garage floor (the floor is that kind of really, REALLY smooth concrete stuff) and we have to sweep the whole garage floor off to race on it, or else we'll slide around a whole lot, but we usually spend 10-15 minutes drifing (well, me anyway, he practices ) then sweep it off and race. Hope I helped you out, WRX Ryder!
Oh yeah, this great guy has a stickied drifting tutorial in the "How-To" section of the site......... ummm..... I think his name is FlaminG35. What a great guy! You should look into it, it's really really usefull. Out to GreenWave22: I dont see how drifting on carpet will hurt your XMod, plase PM me with your argument, I don't wanna start any off-topic battles and/or flame wars here, so please PM with why you think carpet drifting hurts your XMod....

no need to PM as there will be no flaming on my part.
I said that RUNNING your xmods on carpet hurts it period. Doesnt matter if its drift, drag....racing your xmods on some carpets dont do any good. Example: In florida, A lot of the rooms are carpet because of the humidity level and also the fact that some owners dont feel like spending too much money on hard wood floors. Well, the kind of carpet in my room was a long and fluffy one. I raced for about 15 minutes on it before finding out that all the little pieces of carpet had gotten caught inside my wheels as well as my gears. Conclusion: It took me a good 15 minutes to take all that stuff out because the car would run anymore with all that stuff stuck in it. Also, there is always more dust and hairs and such in carpet and those are the stuff that always get in and need cleaning up after usage. Hope you dont get mad at the fact that Im stating a personal example to warn others.......or maybe its just me whos being facitious. GW22 >>>>>>> |

my school doesnt have a gym.and i dont want to bring my xmod to school period. i dont want to lose it or get jacked. but flamin you did sorta help me but as you can see in my gen1 drift vid everyone gave me props on my drifting on carpet. so in a way thats credit.i agree drifting not on carpet is better but seeing that it works its fine. thanks anyway. P.S. FlaminG35 whats the site for your team again? I wanna see if my xmods still on there.

Well, if you think about it, drifting on carpet like that would probably allow slower, more controlled drifts. I think it actually would work. Otherwise stick to waxed surfaces.

FlaminG35, what? lol... so if we go up to Rhys Millen and say we drift our RC cars on hardwood, he won't complain? RC drifting is more or less the same, low-to-no-traction tomfoolery.
The only changes you need to make for a carpet setup are to make sure you've got the ground clearance, and then to round off the edges of your tires to make sure they won't hook into the carpet fibers (many obvious reasons).
