Default can anyone identify this RC car?

well, i found one of my old RC car that my dad used to use.. and i don't know what kind of RC car is this..
i might need to replace the transmitter and controller also.. just wondering if anyone know where can i get any good parts for this car?
edit: whenever i plug the battery in, the car just accelerate by it self, the controller can't turn it, slow it down or anything.. so what do i need to replace?

Controller

I'm going to assume it's a Hornet by Tamiya. Just a guess.

if you dont have any control over the speed, than you need to replace the ESC. does the servo even turn? if not, thewn check all links etc... for sand or crud. if its clean, than you need to replace the servo.

i have no control over anything i believe.. when i just plug the battery to the esc thing... it just accelerates it self without even me turning on the controller.. and the controller can't control anything, not even the steering.

it has a mechanical speed controller. not a esc. make sure the servo that controls the motor works. if not, replace it.
yeah clean it all out, and make sure you have the same frequency crystals in the car and the remote

If you're willing to spend $100, I would go with the Futaba 2PL 2-Channel FM. For $100 you'll get two S3003 servos which you can replace your mechanical speed control servo and steering servo with.

Or, you can go with a Futaba 2PH 2-Channel AM radio for $50 and then spend the other $50 on an electronic speed controller. Mechanical speed controllers are not as smooth or as easy to control and use in my opinion. For $50 you could get a new electronic speed controller; I would suggest a Traxxas XL5.

In reallity the best thing for you to do, is find out exactly what are it is and clean it up and sell it on ebay or to a collector. I have vintage cars about 20 years old to 40 years old. It would cost to much to really get it going good and it would be better to sell it and get a couple hundred dollars toward a new car.

Buy a cheap TQ2 rx and tx for like $25 and put a cheap tamiya esc in it. You will need one servo if you use an esc. You could get that running good with $100 if you snoop around and find some deals. If you are a member of any 1/10 or 1/12 scale hobby grade rc forums you should be able to find all you need there for cheap. If not ebay has cheap radios and esc's.
