Alternate way to permanently lock evo diffs
Hey everyone i have looked for a while and haven't found a good tut for locking your diffs permanently so i decided to write one up after i figured a way to acomplish it.
**[Note: this might damage your car and i am not responsible for anything that occurs.]** Well lets get started with your supplies: 1. Evo differential (car or truck) 2. regular knife (not hobby they arnt strong enough) 3. needle nose pliers. 4. super or model glue 5. screwdriver Ok, lets get started first off you need to pull the following pin out to open the differencial. Becareful this is where i used a knife to pop it out, but do it carefully. **Note: it is hard so put alot of pressure on the pin but be aware that the blade of the knife might either break or close on you, so do it with lots of care.** Ok, so when the pin is taken out you should be left with three parts. Start glueing the center part which has the three gears.(both sides) Then glue the top of the two other gears. (your going to glue both of them.) Place the three parts together again in the same way you took them off. Now this is the other tricky part. You are going to have to push the pin back into the same spot you took it out from. Use the screwdriver to help you push it back in. After all of that it should look nice and clean, when it dries it will be very tight and there you have it an evo lock differencial. Questions and comments are welcomed. Jon

i usually just take my superglue and put the tip in those 3 square hole you see there and squeeze a little into each hole until it wont move anymore or it fills up the inside of the diff

@ noturday what i did caused a complete lock up and you can make sure you didnt forget to glue anything. When you do what you just mentioned there are some spots that are missed and intern the diff might not be permanently locked.(Taken from experience i tried it a few times on various diffs.)

i've locked dozens of diffs with the afformentioned method and not one of them has ever broke loose. they make these nifty little bottles of CA glue with a needle nozzle. two drops on each spider gear and viola.....a perfectly locked diff. no need to go prying the **** thing apart and creating the chance for serious injury. oooorrrr.........maybe you could try a different cement. plastic weld works very well for this. plastruct,ambroid,tenax7-r....these are all made to weld plastics together and the bond is as strong then the parent material. throw a few drops on the spider gears and it's done. again, no need to turn a 10 second job into a 30 minute project.......
