Default greenday's Pro Pulse

Well just picked this up off B1G, he now has my Losi XX.

It's been a little bit of trouble but a whole lot of fun. The rear diff was smoked when I got it, so I put the front in the rear and made it 2WD. Then I attempted to lock the smoked diff with some JB. It worked marvelously for the first pack, I was able to do mediocre crawling, and it launched HARD. Then during the first minutes of the second pack, I noticed that it was doing what it did when I first got it...pulling itself with the front wheels.

To explain, the center had separated from the ring part of the gear, and thus all the power just dumped at the Diff.

So now I need at least one diff, and I think a tough one, it seems like it slips on full throttle launches. This thing needs a slipper!

I mounted a Maisto Crawler body on it for an extra basher body. Works well, it's slightly more rigid and thus takes a hit a little better.

Jumping it ended in a broken front bumper...I keep letting off on the throttle and of course it nose dives.

Anyone got any Diffs?

As far as diffs go look for something like this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Hot-Racing-RC18T...item255fcab5ac

It's the steel out drive diff for an RC18, you have to be careful as some of them such as the MIP ones are to wide for the ProPulse but myself, zippo and bart all have had ProPulses running these, and these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Steel-Swing-Shaf...item2eb04b72f0

We also have steel gears on them making them basically unbreakable.

Hope that helps....

Well As best I can see the gear was what failed, and under ordinary circumstances it looks like they would hold up better. It's not like I'm running BL or dual motors. I might try locking the rear one last time, but I got a feeling some driveline components made of something tough are in my future :P

Which gear? The plastic one on the diff? or the plastic one on the center shaft? I know in my brushless that both of these have been replaced with steel versions.

The plastic gear on the diff. I was thinking of buying 2 associated rebuild kits. They have plastic gears, but, I think they'd be tougher..I don't plan on any more upgrades as it's plenty fast as it is. I just wanna bash w/o worry of breaking something.

EDIT: I mean the stock diff kits. The rebuild would be an ok idea, but the outdrives dont seem to be in the best of shape.

These things just need a slipper clutch and a gear diff! Surely I can get by the way I am with stock diffs...I mean only real mod is a hi-torque motor, it honestly shouldn't be ripping diffs I wouldn't think.

I know of a slipper for $30 some dollars..but I really wanted to run it the way it is.

I to am surprised that they are breaking on you already, those diffs didn't have a whole lot of run time on them and I'm sure I took them apart of a few months ago and cleaned then regreased them

It wasn't until we started with power adders such as lipo and brushless that we started noticing them fall apart, after all they are supposed to be rated for brushless.

I wouldn't lie to you, I'm surprised myself. I honestly think $18.95 on the set plus grease is the best route. The XX's diff flopped 1st day too, and it had been sitting! This makes twice a Ball Diff has caused me down time...I'm beginning to dislike them, lol.

Hopefully this will be the last little bit I need to spend on it, because I'm thoroughly satisfied with the power/speed.

Well guys I went ahead and ordered myself the megatech diff set, which consists of both diffs and some grease. $23.94 shipped to my door.

@ RallyWRX. Thank ya bud! Well the Punk Ramp...it's a good deal for $15 I suppose. It's good for nothing more than mini and micro jumps though. I was able to get a few good launches off it with my Losi but most of the time it would end in flips/rolls/etc. My electrix was worse, it was wider. I still have trouble getting it straight with even the pro pulse. It's awesome in that it has that kicker tho...it throws the car up way higher than just a ramp. So I guess it's your call, you may be a better driver than me.
