I killed my lipo?
My hand slipped while soldering and I poked a hole in the blue film on my lipo batts. The tip beeeaaarrrlly touched the silver surface, but it's not charging anymore so I'm assuming I killed it.
Are lipo that sensitive to heat?

i would just ditch them. I know they can be sensitive but I would never take a chance with them. You might not have touched it to badly but it is damaged in a way.
I think you might have killed em...don't want to seem like a jerk or nothing but did the lipos work prior? sorry thats all i can really help with |

Do you have a voltmeter? check and see their voltage. They have a very quick discharge rate but just a brief moment shouldnt have killed it unless they were already really low charge.

I know that I was able to steer with it before I poked it, but I don't know if the forward/back worked since I was replacing a fet. But I rewired the steering right now and that doesn't even work now so I think it's safe to say that it's dead :/

Addition: also, I hadn't let it charge for months....maybe half a year, I might have let the voltage run too low.

I know this might sound crazy but one time I left my xmod on and the lithium batteries drained down to ZERO volts, however, the atomicmods charger has a special mode it goes into that can sometimes save the batteries by trickle charging. Believe it or not those batteries I left on charged up after about 5 horus on that atomicmods charger.

Better safe than sorry I guess.

Eh, I'm not scared! If you want you can mail me the lithium batteries and I'll try to charge them for you on my charger. I'm a verified service provider on this site so you know I can be trusted

just barely touching the tip to the battery case wouldnt be anything i would be scared of. they can be sensitive, but not that sensitive. check them with a voltmeter see what they show. this will let you know if its something with the batteries, a solder joint, something with the xmod or what.

lol, I found the problem.
I was charging it right now and I lifted it up to feel if it was getting hot or anything, and then the wire I had used to lengthen the stock wire popped off. Noob soldering on my part was the problem. lol ...well, at least I hope that was the only problem. I'll find out after I re-solder it. Addition: Yeah, that was the problem. I re-soldered it, and finally got to use my shrink tubing that's been laying around for a while. It's charging now I'd better practice my soldering skills... lol. Thanks for the help guys
