Default 1978 Chevyrolet Camaro

Okay, my dad was showing me what cars he has had, and I had to choose between a 68 Chevy Impala, or a 78 Camaro to do as an xmods project, his other cars were hard to find or expensive models. I chose the Camaro

I wanna make it similar to what his way, blacked out, maybe a t-top, and red interior.

They only may 79 model kits, so I gotta see what the major differences are on the body, and change that a little with some bondo, or sandpaper.

I know y'all hate projects that are just ideas, but I really wanna do this car real bad (get yur mind out of the gutter...)

Electronically speaking, I'm going to go with a couple of nice upgrades, like Fets, and a motor, nothing big.

Body work:
Blacked out body
Red interior
T-Top
Thick tires in rear

You didn't find a late 70's Camaro for $3k with less than 10k miles.

Maybe it had less than 10k miles on a re-built motor and the rest had 100,000+ miles, a late 70's Camaro with less than 10k on the odometer would go for over $20,000 easily, and that's probably being way too low.

Looks like a cool project. Are you going to be using the blower that's on the car in the box picture?

i really don't like the third gen camaros, but looks like it would be a pretty good project. what i like about muscle car projects is if it is being built for track, not drag. drag cars are such a cliche

I think the blower is a little over the top, so I'm pretty sure I'm leaving it out. I want to keep it low key, very sleek too. I'm devising plans on how to do a t-top before the model comes, because it is hard top.

umm....1978 was 2nd Gen (1970-1981). 3rd Gen was 1982-1992.

I can't wait to see what you're going to do with this project. What trim level was your dad's car? Sport coupe, Berlinetta, LT, Z28..?
