Default Lithium + Gearing

I have a lithium car geared at 8-25. I want to gear it higher for my cousin who wants it to go faster, is it safe? I don't want a set of blown fets. BTW, its a radioshack stage 2 motor.

Anyone have high gearing w.o fets giving them problems?

I wouldn't go pass using the 10t pinnion. But if your chassis is basicly dirt free and resistance free, then 11t or 12t should be fine. Again, I wouldn't go pass 10t, but thats just me. You might want other members opinnion on this.

Alright guys, thanks for the replies. All I'm waiting for is a chassis from XI and my cousin's xmod will be completed. I think I'll keep it at 9:25.
