Default RE Amemiya RX-7 Model Build (Maybe 56k kill)

My mom bought me this model:

So I build it.
And if anyone asks, I'm not mounting this onto a Xmods. It's too pretty.

Obviously this is a painting that was put onto the box, so it won't look as good as it seems on the box.

Most of it lays in pieces.

Some of it is painted.

The only thing assembled is the c0ckpit.

The body.

The rest is in a bag waiting.

I hope to get the body painted today or soon at least, before school starts preferably.

I'm going to go for the Initial D RE Amemiya RX-7 look

It's only the back though No pics of the front.

It would be sweet as an Xmod, but I think it will be awesome anyways. Looks good so far. Can't wait to see it finished.

anyway, nice to see that someone is building the actual kit instead of ditching everything but the interior and the body, lol.

looks good, hope to see it finished soon. good luck!

later T.I.M

No... And even if I did, the chasis would need to be widened and legenthed. Not worth the time.

I was working on the body a few nights ago. I think i got rid of all the molding seams and the ones that are left over are going to be covered by random body pieces. I'm going to either paint the body today or sometime this weekend. School starts tomorrow so I'm waiting for the right time to do it.

Wrong version of the car ...

But it doesn't really matter. I've got Initial D 4th Stage on DVD where I can see it.

*lil update*

Wheels (only fronts) on.

Body mock up.

*Update*

I started to paint the body. I just hope there's enough paint. I ran out while painting my Barricade... Stupid fruit flys or gnats keep landing on the body trying to get high of the fumes and there's a bit of bubbles comming up. So much for high quality Tamiya... must be my painting.

No pics because... I'm too lazy. And it's not done yet.

Whee a double post...

The paint:

Simple yellow.

The body as it sits now. It's got one layer of paint now. The paint is running out so I'm waiting for a good time to paint. Well. There are a few uh-ohs (bubbles/ orange peel) otherwise a bit of sanding will do it.

Because the weather's nice again, started to paint more of the body and spice up the interior.

Rear lights painted:

Interior shots:

Note: The rear right seat is a little messed up because the flat black underneath started to crack and peel.

Now all that's left for the body is a few more mist paints then its on to final assembly
