Default Xmodcanuck's custom made...

Someone was looking for something and couldn't find it so he asked me if I could make one.
It was on a long list of things I might make for myself one day so I gave it a shot and this was the first try.

Hey, how did I mount the body if the front clip is sitting right there??
.

.

It's not a finished product but 90% done. A few minor tweaks and it's finished.

Q & C welcome.

Great work. It looks better than the factory Xmods clips! The cool thing about your being able to machine clips is that you can augment them to get a little more lift or drop, which would only leave shaving down or raising the rear clip so whatever body drop/lift somebody's going for can be attained.

Yep, and on the rear. GPM everywhere. Glad you like my work, too.

Thanks. That's the idea except that I don't have ALL the other clips to copy.

WOW, thanks very much. Glad you like it. And yes that has already come up and it should be no problem. No more hacking up front bumpers or hard to find stock clips.

Looks great. What you should design is a universal just like the ones for miniz. You would just make a flat clip with shims for the frontend and the chassis mount side. Also, what type of plastic are you using?

That sounds like a great idea but from my perspective that seems like more work than just making copies. And like my wheels, I'm using corian.

Well, I got comparison pics done. And even though it might be hard to tell there is a definite difference.

Stock XMODS clip.

My copy.

And 1mm lower.

Q & C welcome.

That is definitely a good idea, and very possible. Anyone is free to pm me about making a specific clip that I haven't made already.

I finished making my Cobra all alloy and when I was done I thought the front sat way too high. So here are some before and after pictures.

And someone wanted their Supra lowered and since I have one of those. My camera moved a bit between the before and after pics, so it doesn't look as different as it really is. I'm still going to make another one that brings it down a bit more.

Q & C welcome.

I don't have one of those bodies/clips yet, but I might be getting one. If I don't get one I'll pm you and figure something out.

I can, but since I don't really like the GTR body I have no plans to get one. PM me and we can work something out.

Thanks, glad you learned your lesson
I'm not sure if I'm allowed to talk about how much I would charge. That might be against bst rules. PM me.

They are for now, but you gotta start somewhere, right.

And I realized that the way I made the Supra clip, if I flip it, I am another mm lower. I wish I could say I made it that way on purpose.

Regular

Flipped

thats what i have done with my cars (just flip the stock one) the 370 works out real nice cuz you can still screw it in from the top of the clip after flipping it, the other one's had to be glued. however, when you drop it that low there is a lot of grinding to do on the inside of the fenders just for clearance.

WOW you just can't be pleased. First you want me to make 1-2mm lower for all cars, then that's not good enough. I should make them lower. And now you can do better yourself. Try flipping a Scion clip and see what happens.

I got rid of some more wheel gap on my Cobra.

First custom clip. (2mm lower - I think)

Second clip. (4mm lower - I think)

Q & C welcome.

i was just kidding. i know i can't do better. just giving you a hard time, don't take it personally
actually, i've flipped the scion clip on a friend's scion before, but it had to be dremeled and trimmed more than it was worth.

i'll probably buy one of your clips and wheel sets when i get permission from my mom (eventually...takes a while to convince asian parents)

that cobra has got wicked front end stance with that clip.
