Update:

I went with gunmetal on the top.
No pictures, because it's just a taped up car lol.

Oh, and the lights arent slanted - it might be the angles of the picture. ;]

Sounds cool! I looked at the original car and it actually has the top half painted in gunmetal ( hood, top, windows sides and trunk) but I think the way you're doing it will still be ok too.

Btw, I also noticed with every new update there seems to be a new avatar - cool!

Yeah, the pictures are kind of hard to tell with. I don't think she has any of each angle, theyre all just photography.

hehe, i like taking pictures :]]

Is that the primer? I was expecting a darker, more metallic grey, similar to the Lancer.

I think its just the flash on the camera. If you look at it close it's a tad darker and glossier, but its not primer.

It's not primer, the flash make it look lighter than it is.

there :]

I think it looks like crap, and it's kind of dirty looking.

Good job on it this far. You did well enough on filling in the spoiler holes, they came out smooth. You might use a tooth pick to touch up the line on the end of the trunk.

I must be honest and say that's it's coming out great imo - it's your first time doing something like this and it really good (trust me on that - i've seen some other 1st time jobs that are nowhere close to this ). Plus there's the "girl" thing - you're doing way better than some guys that just got into this hobby as well .

Try taking pics out side without in the shade without the flash - it should help capture the true color (ask Donzi or Tex - they're good at the camera thing ).

for god's sake...LOWER IT! =P it looks ok so far, i thought it'd be more gunmetal than almost primer grey..the flash don't make it THAT BRIGHT...awesome job with the masking, can we get some bigger pics?

I wish the whole car would have been the color of the trunk. Good job, though - for a first time paintjob, it looks nice!

I'm just posting the back to show the flaws and ask if anyone has any suggestions. I also have the true color of the car showing, rather than the "it is primer?" color.

Notice the drips of black on the bumper, and the sanded side.
I didn't over come my blonde, and um put tape to gloss and .. yeah. :/

Ideas, suggestions?

For the black paint that dripped onto the rear bumper, I would just suggest taking it off and repainting it. Should be pretty easy. How did you sand the side? For the windows, go over them with a toothpick dipped in black paint. The paint is a bit dull, going for more shine or is that the colour? Other then the flaws, it looks pretty good!

yeah - I would take it off and sand it over then paint it by itself - as for th other spot I think you can use a paint brush to cover it up and then use the toothpick like what dontspamme mentioned.

Don't feel bad about it btw - I had that happen to me a few times and I just had to repaint the whole thing 'casue it was pretty bad.

I hope you get it and i'm looking foward ot seeing more.
