RS hobbification! 1/10 Enforcer

Bored with spare parts and loud music, last night I used a servo Donzii gave, and the ESC, FM RX/TX from the Propulse and many zip ties, and restored the now 11 year old RS enforcer to running condition with uber hobbygradness. Sadly, the 11 year old battery pack won't hold a charge for more then 10 seconds so I get nothing of a test drive, but this truck will be a fun basher. Rock solid, solid axles front and rear. Over beefy chassis.

Carries the batt. pack in the bed to weigh down the rear, helps with articulation.

Nice truck, So is it 4wd or rwd? Any worries about the stock drivetrain holding up to the power and speed of the hobby grade ESC?

4WD, with solid axles front and rear. The stock drivetrain must use delrin gears, they've never failed or have had any real signs of wear during the past 10 years. It's plenty beefy. Plus the motor will run out of torque before the drive train gets put under much stress. Plus the rear end has a high/low range selector, so it's pretty well set for on and off road. Stock in high gear it did probably 12 mph, a good low running speed.

Though with the bum batt. pack I have no idea of how the new ESC helps with performance.

This is The exact same thing I'm doing now. I dont mean to brag, but I'm fixing up an old "Spy kids" suv, and an old Impala. I'm planning on getting a ECS, everything hobby grade.

It looks like you did a real good job, what kind of battery does it take (volts)??

Edit: The last pictures just loaded, I'm guessing its 9.6 volt battery. Do you have any extra 9.6 volt batteries or do you have any 9.6 volt batteries at all (beside that one)??

Just a 7.2V stick.

Found a working pack, and MAN the truck rips. Loads more power with the better electronics. Got the steering worked out. Though the servo horn has a problem sticking to the steering parts on the front axle... Gotta fix that.

Fun part was, I hit some real wierd interferance, and the truck got stuck WOT and tore across the yard, up and over the side walk wheelying, and then looped back around to the drive way... lol

Back when RS did make some really beefy trucks that could take a heavy beating. This thing has been jumping curbs, roofs, and everything else in between for years.

ya i have a 6 year old radio shack truck the motor mysteriously stopped working so its been sitting but i did give it a paint job a while ago. Maybe time to try and resurect it? its not 4wd tho so i doubt i will

Busted off the servo horn on the 1st run. Found a servo saver/horn that will take the hits and also steer the truck.. lol
