Default To All Who Complain About Ads

This is just a quick post for people who complain about the supposedly huge google ads on the top of the forum. I personally don't know how big they are, since I already have an ad blocker.

Anyway, if you don't want to see the ads, follow these 2 simple steps.

1. Install Firefox (Assuming you don't already have it. Internet Explorer sucks.)
Firefox

2. Install This Addon
Ad Blocker

Note:
Some comments claim it does not work with Firefox 3.6.
I'm using 3.5.7 right now, but I will install the update and get back to you on functionality.

This also blocks ads on other sites as well.

edit-
Good news. It works perfectly in FF3.6

Thanks for clearing that up for the people that were unaware that they had that option.

Yeah. I remembered reading in a thread a few weeks ago (forgot which one) and thought "I don't see them..."

Then I remembered I installed this add on... Hah.

Just remember, the Ads pay for the server space this site is on. When it is no longer profitable, this site will go away.

it's not that i mind the ads by any means...the top 2 squarish ads are fine by me...but when i go to a specific thread...or want to start a new thread...the long, skinny, vertical ad covers up the new thread button and such

I don't really mind the ads because they bring in revenue to keep this site running. So the more you refresh the page, more money is raked in.

Technically, by using this add on, the ads are still there, thus losing NO revenue for the site.
The ads are just hidden from your view.

Actually, I believe clicking on the ads is what generates the money. I could be wrong but thats how it sounded to me when we were told that our "click through" rate was really low.

Ahh, well, in all honestly, I can't think of anyone that clicks the links.
I've never liked clicking links that weren't posting by someone I trust.
However, before I got the ad blocker, I accidentally clicked it a few times.

I saw it for the first time the other day on a school PC. Have yet to see it on my home PC, though.
