Or you can sand down the inside of the tires that's what I had to do with mine to take them on and off with the push of a thumb.

As for which tires to use, it depends on the surface. I use the slick ABS tires on my hardwood floor, but a laminate flooring would need a bit more grip and GPM "treaded" drift tires would work fine.

With lithium power though... Hard slicks would do the job well. I bet they'd even slide around on concrete! LOL

The more power you have, the more grip you'll need for drift tires to get maximum control. (if that makes sense, since drift tires don't have much grip)

More or less personal preference but I'd recommend GPM drift tires (haven't tested them, but I hear they work well on slick surfaces)

EDIT: Also a side note, dremeling down the axles to fit MA-010 wheels is a really, really good idea to run all sorts of tires. It was one of the best mods I've done on all my cars to be able to run all the nice wheels mini-z's have

Little update: I ordered some Drift tires, bearings and some other misc parts. Here is a little mockup of the body (stock) and wheels.. Chrome purple discs and lock nuts on Aluminum 5 stars.

Here I added the Body kit into the mix and some chrome purple highlights.

Not feeling that purple hood vent, but other than that, it looks real clean! Really like those Tagu rims.

Man I wish I could get my hands on an r34, but alas.
This looks really sick though I would go with the stock body with those rims, but that's just me I like the r34's (and basically all skylines for that matter) to have that stock look with maybe just a front lip.

X, that looks awesome. I love the way you incorporated the purple in there. It looks awesome. How is the chassis coming along? Can you take some pictures of the chassis? Great job so far. I can't wait to get my hands on the car and throw it on the track.

I am finishing up the electronics install. (I had to redo it.. Wanted the wires to be a bit cleaner) other then that i put aluminum shocks on it and a purple aluminum plate on the underside. Just waiting for the rest of the parts to arrive in the mail. Ill get a photo up tonight.

One more question.. What do you think is a better body for drifting.. RSX or the skyline. Wasnt sure if a shorter or longer wheelbase was better.

I personally like short wheelbase for drifting. Because the car will make sharper turn and easy to spin out, while the longer wheelbase cars will be more stable.

I don't pretend to be an expert at drifting, but I gotta tell you, The tire setup I have on here right now and the Lithium.. This thing drifts very nice on my track.. I am drifting right around the turns it is pretty sweet. Of course I haven't dabbled in the drifting much, so Im sure someone else better experienced could tweak it to perfection. I was playing with this girl for about 30 minutes on my track drifting and having a blast. I don't have any crazy modified motor in it.. it's an Atomic stock somthing.. not sure, ill have to look again.

here are a few photos finishing up the electronics and cleaning up the wireing. I am very happy with it.

1) Pre motor install

2) All done. And that's the included Kyosho Perfex KT-S transmiter.

3) A top view of the clean wires and a good Rvmod.

wow looks really clean!
also as for the body, i would stick with the R34. not sure why but its always been the body i do best with drifting xmods. even other bodies with the same wheelbase dont seem as good. thats just my opinion though, its more up to the driver. and im no professional xmod drifter.

Dr. K got it lol shorter wheelbase = more oversteer and wild the car will be

Personally, I LOVE the 94mm wheelbase and 98mm because they're so stable. I still have a little trouble controlling 90mm chassis' because they spin out so much and they can't drift on wide turns for very long.

Your setup though, is really sick! If you have enough power, you can drift with rubber tires no problem!! Its just not as slow and "graceful" as with drift tires is all.

Really all personal preference. Nice job on the car!! Its soooooooooo clean!!

Those rims from the link seems interesting, will looks nice on the RSX. If you ever switch back to the R34 in the future, then those Tagu rims will definitely looks better on there.

Another thing is, if you're drifting on RCP or any other carpet tracks, then I would prefer the plastic drift tires. If you're drifting on hardwood floor or any polished tiles, then I would prefer rubber tires. Because they helps build up more speed and way quieter then those plastic drift tires, you can also do a large angle drift very easy. In my experience, plastic drift tires still gives the best angles, they allows you to do a very tight turn drift.

Yea, I mostly will be drifting on rcp and sometimes on tile floor. I like those tagu runs tho they look sick but those times in the link don't look bad.
