I went and picked up my tires and mags. The tires are slightly bigger than the ones i had on the 4WD, gonan have to raise the boddy slightly. FOr the magnet swap, the instructions that came with it says to use a strong glue for some motor cans. Is there a certain type of glue or will regualr super glue work?

You shouldn't need glue too install them, but if it says too I would just a little bit of super glue. Should work just fine. Also don't forget too put the U-clip back in after you install the mags.

I'll be waiting to put magnets in. I got home from work and one of them broke. One of the cats must have jumped up on the desk and moved the mags a little to close to a metal object. Im gonna strangle them :/

Random scraps of metali collected from work.

Put every single bit of it on.

I'll try and get some of the 4WD and get them boh in the dirt with it.

I was actually thinking that myself. Maybe hack off he back half and use the dually axles forthe sled.

I need to figure out a hook system for it. I have a small set of plastic chains that i want to use instead of fishing line.

That chain would look more realisitic than fishing line.

I'm only using fishing line for now untill i get a hook system for both of them. I just dont know what to use. Is there a pacewhere i can get really small hooks. i looked on ACE Hardware, Radioshack and HOme Depot sites and i couldn't find anythimg small enough. Fell free to give suggestion if you have any.

You could use part of a paper clip, you can cut & bend them too the size & shape you want & you can paint them too for a more realistic look.

It's been a bit, but it's back. Both trucks still run great, just need to get some new mags.

Took the wrecker apart and got to the base. I plan on using it for the base of my sled. I'm going at this without blueprints. Im tired of not finding any...

The main thing im needing to do is make a deck that sits on top of teh base, then make the weight box. Then after that is the fun part...figuring out the gear ratios...

i have an idea for the sled let's see if i can say this right

1)make your weight that you want to slide up the sled

2)get it on some sort of track so it goes straight and doesn't put more weight on one side of the truck and so it won't fall off

3)use your fishing line and tie one end to the weight, then string it around the front of the trailer, then tie it to the axle on the trailer with a small sppol or something.

4) you're Done

as the axle gets pulled forward with by the truck it will spin and twirl the line up and pull the weight forward to give the truck more resistance as like a 1:1 sled would

let me know what ya think!

Sorry for the lack of posting, but i've been busy with school and work (13 hrs total a day with 8 hrs on Sat... x.x)

Since I work in a factory, i get the opportunity to take scraps of metal. Now I know what you're going to think. "Omg, do you plan on using all that metal?" NO I don't. The sheet is 16ga? aluminized and the rest of the metal is random aluminized and steel (ranging from 14ga to 1/2" thick). Yes, I'm sure the sled will be heavy, but I don't plan on making to many pieces for it, just enough to function for now.

Parts to be made:
Base plate for top
base plate for box
skid plate
and maybe fenders of some sort
