Default How To Make Wide Wheels

Here,s a simple yet hard tut on making wide wheels

dificulty: 8/10

Things you will need:
1. Rims of your choice
2. mini torch, lighter, anything that makes fire (matches not a good idea)
3. hobby knife
4. metal xmod lug wrench or similar
5. patience

ok here we go.

its a relativity easy at first

we start by selecting a nice pair of wheels
i chose the 08 GTR wheels

then cut the fake disk brake out (only required for barricade, bumble bee, GTR and Z06 wheels)

next take your torch/ lighter, and slowly heat the center of the rim, make sure to remove tire first

quickly grab your lug wrench and slowly push the center down, be sure not to move it out of the center or to one side, its alot harder to fix

if you have done this right, they should look kinda like this

be sure to hold pressure til the plastic has hardens

after that you can paint them or just leave them how they are

so here the before and after

before wide

after wide

looks much better

i hope this helps some guys, this is best done if you have multiple wheels

one last thing, the plastic gets pretty hot, try not to burn yourselves

thanks

Not that big of change, but still good.

Just a note, if you dont remove your tire, it will get ruined. Just wanted to say that, even though you just did. Good mod..

thats the whole point of it, not much change, but enough to fill out the wheels wells on the wide kits, this sure beats cutting a rim in half and thanks

yes do remove the tire, i forgot for the pics but you get the point

pretty good idea personally i like the one where you cut the wheel in half but this is actually easier. But wouldn't this make the wheel more fragile?

it all depends on how you do it, mine are because that is the first time i had done it, and that is why it is best to have a few sets of the wheels

a nice idea
only thing i would add is
put a spacer under the rim so when you pushe the centre all the rims have the same offset

maybe you should make a rig that'll hold the wheel rim from bending or keep the heat away from the rim
