Default Gen1: Increased Rear Suspension Travel

Figured I would copy it here tooo..... I don't want this thread posted ANYWERE else*, at all. If I find that you did, I will ask the moderaters of both boards to ban you...

Okay... I got some inspiration, and decided to make my own version of Chino's Xmodster. This was the first Xmod Monster Truck... I remember when he was first building.. The good ol' days...

Anyways, I wanted increased travel, and started thinking (for once). This increases it by a bit, as the pictures show, giving you, at one point, when combined with a monoshock or strut bar, almost straight axle articulation of the rear...

I haven't tried it (yet), but if you do this mod, but instead of a monoshock, you use the standard suspension, with a CXP strut bar, then it should do well on road, as it will roll the chassis, but the front will need more suspension travel... Hopefully Numbchux will write that up.

This will increase the suspension travel/articulation of the rear. I don't know how many degrees, but it does.. The pictures will show..

I am not responsible for any damage to your xmod. This might void your warrenty, and I cannot gurentee (sp?) results...

Materials Needed:
2 Rear (R/L) Suspension Arms
1 Xmods EvoT Spring and Shock Body
Exacto Knife
Needle File (To tidy up cuts)
Wire Cutters or Side Snip Cutters

1.) Start by using Wire Cutters or Side Snip Cutters to cut off the little bumps circled in red. Then use you Exacto Knife and Needle Files to smooth down, and round out the cuts.

2.) Along the bottom of the arms, and at the top were the Shock Body attaches to the arm, there are braces. Cut and smooth these off to allow for even more travel.

3.) Sand everything smooth and install on car. You're done!

Here is a picture of the finished result with the Increased Travel arm on the left, and the stock arm on the right at full lock downwards, without bending the arm...

This mod allows for the use of the EvoT Shock Bodies to be used along with the arm, as the Evo (Car) Shock Shaft is too short to allow full travel.

This is the finished result...

Thanks to Color0 for the inspiration to work on this.... and becuase I finished something for once.... :hehehe:

Oh, and thanks to Numbchux for stickying this!
