Donziikid's Tamiya Mitsubishi Pajero:
Quite the long title, eh? Lol. Howdy, I just recently (alright, about a month and a half ago..) bought a Tamiya Mitsubishi Pajero Metaltop Wide kit off of eBay from RPPHobby. For those that do not know, the Mitsu. Pajero from Tamiya is a four wheel drive RC with an independent front suspension and a solid rear axle. Stock they have about an inch of ground clearance in the front. From my limited up north testing, it's proven to be a fun off-road scaler and that limited g.c. is good enough, but it certainly could use some help when it comes to the wheel department. Stock tires make better rocks than rubber! My plans for my Mitsu would be of course paint, followed by a few scale upgrades and lights. I would like to make the brake lights clear rather than the solid plastic they are now. Possibly even a few chassis upgrades like relocating the steering servo to over the front suspension. We'll see what happens. As you can see, the body isn't painted. Any suggestions are certainly welcome! Cheers, Kyle.

Super sweet truck there Donzii, I have been wanting one of those forever. They are the epitimy (sp?) of a scale offroad vehicle, as a lot of real offroaders have a solid rear axle and IFS. lol...now you'll have to think to make your way through trails rather than romp through them with your AX10. haha. Very cool, probably one of the best scale kits for a realistif offroading expierence...man i want one now lol.

Greenday -- Haha. Yeah. Although it's not my AX10, it's certainly capable of much more than I was expecting.
Kaze -- Yupp. No problem. I'll get on that tomorrow for ya. Thanks for the comments, guys. Cheers, Kyle.

Kyle, that is just awesome that you are getting into the scale scene. I had one, and they are tons of fun!
I am considering getting one again. If you have any specific questions about how to mod it, lift the front suspension a bit, or upgrades, feel free to ask me. Aweosme choice.

Nice choice Donzii! How many turns are on that motor? I spy an XL-5 ESC in there! Haha. If mine had a connector still on it, I'd sell it to ya. Waterproof FTW :lol But nice choice Donzii(I'm joking around about selling the ESC). What are your plans for color on this? I hope you and the other mods don't mind me posting this but my buddy from another forum did an amazing project on I believe the same chassis.
Ok can't find it, I'll find it later but he did an amazing job so you have to see it

I robbed the 55T lathe motor out of my Stampede and the XL5 since I didn't like Tamiya's included ESC. It's using the Futaba TX/RX package from my RC18 since I fried the Mamba and switched back to stock electronics. Uhm.. The servo is a Futaba S3003 from the same TX/RX package. The 55T is a little fast for my liking so I'll probably order a 75T or 85T later on as well. Quote:
I plan on doing a 3mm brass bushing lift like I've seen plastered all over RCC and Scale4x4. Seems simple and effective. I'm also looking into upgraded shoes; any suggestions? I don't want to hack away at the tub chassis, though.. which really hinders my choices.. Quote:
Pictures in following post. Oh, and I haven't seen any paint suggestions?! Cheers, Kyle.

Oh my, that is only 2 links away from having the exact same rear suspension as the CST10. Remove the top 2 links and place a panhard bar and you've got it.

Kyle, I would suggest the RC4WD Dirt Grabbers, as I think the will fit right.
http://www.rc4wdstore.com/2/product_...roducts_id=583 You can browse around that site for more 1.9 tires, but keep in mind that anything over 4" might not fit and you will have to make some space by trimming away the chassis.

Those will fit under the wheel arches, however, I will only have about .2" left for rear and front articulation. The stock tires are 3.5" tall and leave about an inch of room for articulation.
Nice tires though.. They'd look good tucked underneath.. A quick look on RC4WD and I found the Mud Thrasher 1.55" which may tuck under there a lot better... hmmm...

Kyle, the 1.55's are the rims, but they are about 3.5" tall also.
Here's the problem: The front C hub is too big for 1.55" rims to fit! I think the only way around it is to narrow the rims. If you want the thread on it let me know.

And here is what I have done today in preparation for the RC4WD tires:
Chopped off that awful brick but still kept the front body mount "bar" for the Pajero shell. The glue on the replacement plastic is drying as I type. Any comments, critiques or ideas are certainly welcome!

NSX94 -- Thanks. I am certainly looking forward to their arrival.
Now that the glue has dried I replaced the front assembly. Fits great, and hopefully it will perform as expected. Nothing blocking the tire approach. Angled front view: And a crooked front view: Tires will hopefully be here by the end of the week. If not, they will be here by next Monday. In the mean time I'll probably paint the replacement styrene black. Cheers, Kyle
