that looks real nice! to bad my parts didnt turn out.. i painted the sway bar, the top susp. cover and the sway bar cover..
once i put them back on they impeded my steering and now it has to work real hard to overcome the paint friction, looks like gpm parts are in order! |

oh, i'd like to add, if you're going to rattlecan these parts, clean them off first with some sort of degreaser. dishwashing detergent is just fine. clean them off thoroughly with a lint free rag, blow dry them to make sure you get all of the moisture out and whether or not you prime them, make SURE that you clear them. they'll scratch very, very easily if you don't. it's also better to spray these tiny parts in very light coats, the first coat won't totally cover it, but this coat will be the "tack" coat and help the next few coats adhere to the plastic better. i've also had luck with blowdrying the paint with low speed/low heat air from a blow dryer, to lay down the base coat. if anybody has any questions about painting plastic, i'm more than glad to help. i don't see bondo much on here, but he's very experienced with painting plastics, also.

i honestly wouldn't paint outdoors in cold weather. if you do, make sure it's dry outside and that the sun is out and paint in very, very light coats if you must. if there's any way at all that you can build a small table/workbench and some tarps, you can rig together a small spray booth about the size of a bathroom stall, use a halogen lamp for heat and light. paint just takes forever to dry in the cold weather. what kinds of paint are you planning on using?

i have dupli-color, testors...thought about doing light coats and then come inside...thought about the paint booth...its frustrating taking a project up to sanding and body work and getting stuck on paint cus its too cold...hmmm...lets see what i can come up with

Heres my tip for painting in cold weather/snow. god knows i got the same weather you do!!
Take your pieces onto a piece of card board. (normally make one of those little spin rolles of tape) shake your can accordingly (inside) when your ready to paint, run out side, (stand under cover if the snow/rain is coming down) Spray your coat, and then take your parts back inside on the carboard. and place them in a back room. (a few fumes still get emitted, but its really not bad) That way the parts stay warm and dry, but all the paint over spray and fumes are out side |

if you can get inside shed garage anything will do , then try to get it warm
next up get hold of an hairdryer and warm the body , then the paint pop this into warm water for about a min , take it out shake it and return to eater untill the can no longer goes cold when shaken that will make the paint go on nice and thin use the hairdryer to dry the paint after each coat just watch out for it blowing dust onto the car
