Full drive report later. I'm exhausted after 12 hours of driving.

Basics of the trip:

50-60 gallons of gas
550 miles round trip
1 exhaust bolt backing out causing backfires at the head of the motor
1/2 quart of oil on the 1st leg, but not from the trip itself
12 hour trip, 10:30 am tp 10:30 pm
Called sick to work
Drafting 18 wheelers netted 14 mpg highway, with a cab in back, windows down, and monster 3.9x or 4.1x rear gears, awesome.

Followed him from Grand Prairie to Huntsville ona single tank.

Next up, just a cheapie mod: Frenching the side markers

Is that the Slowbird in the background? Those side markers match the blinkers. It certainly looks distinctive. Whens your winter break so you can swap the cab?

Cab swap is looking likely to be done spring break. Still saving and planning. Trying to find a way to get the cab painted with the right paint (older style that many shops won't use), and also looking around for a glass shop to do the windshields.

But a goofy plate I found for the nieghborhood joggers that think the street is their highway:

Also, badass pictures infront of massive burn-pile

Wow looking really good. I like the daylight pics and the new license plate lol.

You should use the old cab as like a couch or something in your room lol.

What style of painting is used that you are looking for?

It's an enamel paint, old school single-stage. but it puts off a lot of fumes. If I can get my friend's dad to lend me some time in his shop it'd be great. I've helped my friend numerous times with his '75 Camaro, and a motor/tranny swap. Figure I could try and pull some strings and have no labor costs. I'm also considering throwing John Deere "Blitz-Black" semi-flat black paint during the course of body work. It's cheap as hell, easy to spray, and very tough since it's a tractor paint. And unlike flat black primer, it doesn't chalk up or fade. That would be temporary while the fenders, hood, and bed are fixed.

instread of mounting them from the outside, you cut down the mounting tab so it fits between the two lenses and mount from the back side. Used some allen-head bolts for a cleaner look.

I remember you mentioning somewhere something about doing your own powdercoating?

How much did the whole set up (gun, oven, compressor) run you?
And any good places to get the powder?

Gun was a gift, you can find it at harbor freight. Oven was $30 bucks, as you can see it's just a house hold oven with wheels. Also a pair of toaster ovens for small parts. Powder is about 2-4/lb for regular colors, 7 I guess for cooler colors. I order from powderbuythepound.com, so you can get a great idea on pricing from them. A pound will do plenty of work, took about a 1/4 lb to do a friend's header, and we did a few coats. I did a ton of trim and engine brackets on the CST10 with a lb. Harbor freight powder is good for under hood stuff, but it's no good for anything that sees sunlight. You can get UV protected powder from the site above.

Compressors vary. I just use my dad's 20 year old compressor that has like 3 leaks in the tank.

300~ is a safe estimate. Block numbers say it's a 260hp/360ft lb motor, add in the non-stock cam and headers, dual 2-1/4 vs. the stock single 2-1/4 exhaust.

You talk a lot but don't show anything of it. Timing is based on way more factors than just some random HP number. I don't even remember what it's at, did it by ear/drive. Keep degreeing up until you knock and back off until no knock under load. I assume it's a 4 bolt main being a truck motor from the good years, but I've never pulled the pan to look.
