Monstar.
Well, I've decided to start working on a new Xtruck project. It's basically just going to be a water tight 2wd monster truck running off of stock xmods electronics.
The only upgrades done will be a custom chassis so that the wheels can actually turn and a helimax motor. The batteries are relocated into the body. Anyways, here are some pictures of what I've thrown together so far. Hopefully, I'll have the chassis made up by this weekend. ^Batteries relocated into the body ^Stock Evo board, going to be heatshrunk to be water tight. ^Monster tires, compared to offroad upgrade tires. |

I didn't have much time to work on it today, but here are a few pics with the proto-chassis installed. It's just made out of styrene, but The real deal will be made out of steel or aluminum, once i get the metal stock that i need. pics...
It needs roughly about another 3/4" of body lift. The tires steer and turn properly against the new chassis. This isn't the entire chassis, i plan on building a top section to hold the board and to make it more rigid. |

I quoted your post to see your original code.
The links you put between your /img tags are of the URL for the FlirckR page, not the picture itself. You put: http://www.flickr.com/photos/46549126@N08/4267517019 But what you need is: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4042/...b587d9be68.jpg (Got that by going to the first link, then copying the IMG source on that page.)

If you do end up using those wheels, you wont have to waterproof it, you'll just float! Good luck getting it to work right with those big wheels. Looks like it'll be interesting!

Styrene Chassis template.
The top section is the upper chassis, it connects behind the servo casing and links to the grey piece that holds the truck spacer. The bottom section is the lower chassis, it connects to the front bulkhead, right below the steering tie rod and links back to the lower collar that catches the truck spacer. It's designed this way so that it doesn't hinder articulation. The lower section is plenty narrow enough not to hinder the tires during turns and the upper section was chopped on until it functioned without hindering the tire steering. As soon as i get time, I'll dremel one out of some steel stock and slap it on. Last edited by suicide_star; 01-13-2010 at 10:59 AM.. |
