Default My families newest edition: Dodge A100

Well as of today we are buying this truck its $500. The guy has had th truck for 3 years, and the body has had work done to it so theres not much rust at all really. he has most of the parts for it also. It runs but needs a tune up. so the guy says, it was running last year. its a 1969 dodge A100 pick up with primer on it.(pink primer ) so once we get it home we are going to primer it grey and go from there. so heres the only pictures i have right now. Also to me this is another rare steal for us just like the 1941 dodge WD-21 is.

Its got a 318 with a 3 speed on the column, trans is good.

dont worry this will be the last! for now till the others done. i gotta get the '73 charger into the school body shop for body work, and then a few things left on the '41 dodge truck not that much really. and the '73 Porsche needs to see a specialist. and then theres this and sooner or later my car lol. oh yea btw tailgates like by far the worst part of the truck. floor boards good. interiors not there but thats alright. And plus this truck was way too good to pass up.

oooo it looks old ... looks really kool, good luck on finishing this, idk why, but it seems like it needs a lot of exterior work done, seems like a lot of rust on the back, but im no 1:1 scale car expert anyways again good luck

Thanks! The outside really isnt that bad, someone who owned it before the guy we are buying it off of, put some money into getting the body work done so most of its basically done, the tailgate flaps around because there is no bottom hinges, and the tailgates got the worst rust(so far) on it right now. it just needs a nice sand(or sand blast) and some paint, and itll be looking real its, its prettu old, its a 1969 dodge A100, build number 1070, with a 318 CI V8 small block LA family, with a 3 speed on the column, or "3 on the tree" shifter, and has a wheel base of 90 inches, and its a 1/2 ton rating on it, also built in, in Warren, Michigan. Ah gotta love VIN decoders. anyway thanks again .

hey now, there isn't a darn thing wrong with stock piling projects.
espescially when they're as badassed as this one.
hell,i budget my projects money pretty well but if someone offered me an A-100 for $500,somethings would either be sold or others would have to wait......that right there is a once in a lifetime deal.
if someone slaps a nice juicy steak infront of ya,you don't say "no thanks,i've got a pile of potatoes right here".
i've been through just about every yard(and hoarders) from NC to northern FLA to the east side of GA and i havnt seen an A-100.
all i can say is.......i'm jelouse

word to the wise though, unless you know the person that did the bodywork and can trust them to do a good job, have the body sounded.
it might look decent but i've had a couple occasions where we started blocking for paint and the shoddy bodywork(bondo) fell off to reveal a good bit of cancerous lesions.
to have someone else do it is reletively cheap for piece of mind.
if you know how to do it then it only takes about a half an hour of tapping and rapping.

yea it was like such a great deal, and my dad has always wanted one. so i found this on CL. and figured why not i have the cash and its a sick deal. We where the only people that actually looked at the truck to. ALso with the body work, we are going to hit the bad spots on the door for now, probably sand it down and throw grey primer on it, get it running and stopping, and drive it around till we have alittle more cash for the full resto. alittle later. once im 17 the titles being transfered to name as well.

The last pic is of a few of the parts the guy had, its missing a few things. but thats still quite alright with me. sadly i have no more towards this becuase i have to blow the $300 i have left on my DD since the battery took a crap and the tires are shot. ill get some better pics of every thing tomorrow hopefully.

eh this ones an easy job to get it up and running should have it on the road after the winter.
and heres some more pics:

Tailgate. not too bad on the outside.

Grille, sand blast and paint its pretty much perfect.

Door rust drivers side only.

V8 thats all we know right now. its missing the coil, new coil points plugs and wires and it should fire right up.

view out the front of the truck.

dash and AM/FM radio.

shifter "3 on the tree"

clutch,brake,gas.(left to right)

inside door jam(drivers side) worst piece of rust on the truck so far that we have seen, other then that the beds dented up but who cares.

Shifting linkage.

gonna get a new radiator.

And its even got the mirrors!

And we even found th tail lights! and side marker rear and front lights. basically all the parts are there! missing one tailgate hinge.

Thanks what you see right now, is us not even started on it, lol. we just bought it and put it in the back yard last night. we started to examine the truck today, not going to worry about the body too much for now. worry about that once we get it running, if we get it running before january and theres not alota snow on the ground, i might be able to use it for my drivers test.

actually so far, it seems the trans is pretty good, we will find out in a couple of weeks for real tho once we get everything good to go. the shifter is just a tad bit stiff, once i start driving it more i might look into a little later on.
and @ winner. i need to put a passenger seat in other wise i cant have any one else in the car. there for i cant take the drivers test. hahah

well alittle update, been sanding down the pink and putting a self etching primer down for now. so far almost have a 1/2 the one side done, sorry for bad quality will have better ones tomorrow, it got really dark out. so these are done with my phone before it got dark.

I have a few spots i messed up on, but nothing a quick resand can fix, i need to grab another can of primer tho. tomorrow i should be able to get it.

I like the flat green look. Throw some black paint on the wheels and roll happy.
