here is a clod axle setup i used as an example of a decent 4-link set up, even though its more on the old school side of things it works at 80 degree artic. I built this from scratch and love it!

um 4 link is kind of hard to build on something that small unless you can find some ballcups threaded rod etc. that are pretty small.

4-links are not easy on this scale. It's doable, but leafs are preferred..

first thing that comes to mind.....

NO leaf springs,
Use piano wire and instead of ballcups, make the pianowire at each end into eyeloops cupped onto a steel ball or such, if i were doing one up im sure i could figure this out in a way.

Scale4x4.net, goto the micros, and look at what their doing. Very very very few use a linked suspension.

re: Clod crawler ^

well, it was a long task to say the least...
first designing the TVP chassis to work with my setup i had in mind, then cutting it from 16GWELD steel using templates i had made up, then tying it together using threadrod and alloy tubing. From there it was making custom 4-link post mounts to attach the axles into the chassis. Creating the suspnsion mounts were easy to do using a L-bracket i made up. Shocks are from a HPI Savage, then Thundertech wheel widners & adj motor mounts to complete that part of it. Kimbrough servo saver on the MG hitec servo.
Stock wheels using nobby tires for now but my plans are Moabs on beadlocks when i get back to this project. All it needs is a new 14.4V ESC as the one i had traded to a member from this site ripped me off! i ended up losing out on a N4TEC in that deal!

oh well...one day ill ge tback in the swing of things....lol
