Default So I was on Craigslist...

And I stumbled upon a whole boatload of stuff for $250. I was able to haggle it down to $200...

The lot I bought, where most aren't pictured, includes:
- Tamiya TA04-Pro chassis
- Two Bodies (R34 and Celica)
- Hudy Step Gauge
- RPM Camber and Toe gauges (2 from this, and 2 from what I bought before, have 4 now)
- Serpent camber gauge
- Kyosho body masking tool
- Misc Replacement parts and hardware
- Setup shocks
- Organized box
- Tool box
- Novak Cyclone ESC (one of the most sought after Novak ESCs!)
- Novak Mercury receiver (chrome)
- Airtronics MX-3 (I have 2 now! Woot!)
- 6 or 7 sets of glued wheels/tires
- 2 sets of wheels with no tires (I'm reserving one for PVC drift wheels)
- Tekin BC 67 charger (Tekin, made in USA... EXCELLENT charger!)
- 3 motors (two 27T stock motors and one 14x2)
- That's all I can remember...

I'll add more if I remember. Anyways, some pics:

my dealings with Craiglist....

I had a soundsystem for sale on craiglist for approx 800.00 which included:

computer spec vented box/carpeted
(x2) 12" pioneer premier subs
Audiobahn 12v inline driver
2 farad capacitor

i had a guy bite on it, for which he had told me the m/o was on its way so consider this system sold!

i waited for a few weeks and no m/o, so i emailed him, his response was he had to borrow monies from his place of work so allowed for more time.
He also had stated that his place of work made a mistake and had sent 2 seperate m/o's for 1000.00 each, and for me to do the right thing and send 1 back. So then he goes to tell me to have it boxed up and sent by his courier as he had arrangements for this set up.
(Yea....ok, i aint frickin stoopid here? like im about to let this leave my house with no money transfered/wired/sent to me!)

time.....it passed and passed....then finally x2 international m/o's arrive,
I had 1 of these into a bank, which becuase it was international would take 10 business days to process/approve. 12-14 days pass and guess what!
the **** m/o was not only not there....it was a complete BOGUS frickin money order all together made up by the scammer!

BEWARE OF CRAIGLIST!
this also had the same crap in another way happen to a buddy selling his 2007 Si Honda civic!

retarded scammers suck!

Is that foam dust on the ESC already?

Looks nice. I love CraigsList.

Torredo, this is the Electric R/C thread, no the off-topic one

Donziikid, yep, you got that right! The previous owner was a racer... This thing is well maintained, unfortunately, only missing one part... Hopefully I can source this out, since its kind of essential... The spur-to-front diff belt tension bearing and mount...

Here's a part I took out of the exploded view that I took. I need everything in this picture except the Upper Deck, and the four MB1 and MC4 screws in the front...

suicide_star - Yep, 1:10! I'll post pics later of ALL my hobby-grade stuff in a row to compare sizes... I really need to get used to on-road. I can't 'plop' the car on the ground like I do with my off-roads, the chassis just bottoms out...

xmodracer1 - Nope, not BL. It has two 27T 'stock' motors. Stock designates a racing class and the motors. 'Stock' R/C motors are always 27T. It also came with a 14x2 (14T-double).

Ask and ye shall receive!

This was the previous owner's bashing body. It was used on several other chassis' as you can tell from the multiple body post holes:

Here's a pic of some of the stuff it came with:

And my new charger, the Tekin BC 67! It's major upgrade from my Duratrax Intellipeak Piranha AC/DC Digital Peak Charger, but don't think it hasn't replaced it :

Good find dude! I'm totally jealous...

As for torredos comments well that is why they put in big print at the top of the page 'beware of scammers' because the whole site is full of them! But as RED did ok that just proves that not everyone in the world is bad!

Thanks man!

Yeah, Craigslist has the big warning message about scammers. Its not hard to find, its highlighted in a yellow bar. Personally, I do personal face-to-face, call-first-type dealing when I buy stuff locally from online ads. I don't do many online dealing except purchasing stuff from Tower Hobbies or other reputable R/C and car parts stores.

As for the sizing, I took a pic, but it really didn't work out too well. I put a 1:28 XMOD in the front, but looking at the other scales, as the way the photo was taken, the XMOD was closest to the camera, which in turn, made the other scales look smaller... But I guess I'll post it up anyway:

Oh, not BL ok. Wow that body looks good besides the many holes. You should cut around the ones in the hood and put mesh in its place. That would be sickly awesome. Just a suggestion.

Yeah! That would be sweet! Too bad I don't even have body scissors or body post hole reamers... I use drill bits for my older stuff and a cutoff wheel on a Dremel when cutting bodies out

I did plug up one set of holes though... Remember this?

Well, its back. This time, in the form of a Celica!!!

The funny thing is, at the scale, 1:10, the front wing would actually be useful...

Yeah, I remember that!! Maybe, if you took it off a jump, it would fly!

Thanks! The weird think in front of the Celica is the white wing (its a double-deck wing, but I put electrical tape to give it the effects of a single-deck wing, as well as more surface area for wind).

If you take a look at the second pic I posted at the top of this thread, you can see it on the back of the yellow R34.

UPDATE:

I started checking over the actual alignment and suspension setup for the car and it was WAY off...

Apparently, there was more suspension droop on the left side of the car (imagine sitting in the driver seat). Good thing the previous owner supplied it with a Hudy height gauge that helped me fix up the setup of this thing...

As for the shocks... Wow... Just wow... There was a whole array of preload spacers on each shock (its not threaded, so it needs preload spacers). The FL side had 3mm thick worth of preload, the FR had only 2mm, RL had 4mm and RR had 3mm... I don't know how the previous owner managed with this...

The toe-in was spot on in the front end of the car, so it was good. Rear toe is adjusted by toe blocks, so its fine.

As for camber...
FL: -3 degrees
FR: -1.5 degrees
RL: -0.5 degrees
RR: 0 degrees

Way off... I had to bust out the unmounted wheels and use them to align the car.

After this semester's exams, I'll be visiting one of my local indoor on-road tracks and giving this thing a shakedown!
