Question Question about tires/rims

Hey all, I am new to the site. But I wanna give it a shot. I have a evolution street edition gt-r . 6 cell upgrade, stage 2 , bearings, FWD conversion.
Sorry no pictures yet
This is my question and problem. Anytime I floor my car while turning or just floor it anytime really. The wheels will come flying off the rims. If that makes sense. The rims stay on the car, the rubbers just go rollin off. I tried super glue on the tire to see what would happen. And just like i thought the glue dried out the rubber and it cracked. So that won't work. Any other ideas?

It happens to most people. A solution would be harder compound tires or supergluing it, which didn't work for you. What superglue are you using ? I've tried it and it worked for me easily.

Or you can buy ridegeless Xmods rims and use tire tape to hold the tires on the rim.

There is a really good tutorial on taping and glueing your tires (for Mini-Z's but it can be applied here) at ReflexRacing.net. Very informative...

The whole 6 cell thing is your biggest problem for keeping the rubber on.

thank you for all your help. I would really like to get a good set up of new wheels and tires. aluminum wheels, and real traction tires. Where can i find the wider rims/tires? ive seen some people with "wider" rear tires. I got the tires glued on there now. i had to soak the rim w/ the tire on it after i put the superglue on em to keep it from dry rotting almost instantly. but now my car keeps breaking the cheap plastic axles(aka dog bones) and im running out. any ideas?

Get yourself some Mini-Z tires and rims. That would allow you run wider tires. The dogbones issue could be solved with some aluminum ones purchased online.

There are lots of online retailers for miniZ stuff but the 2 I use the most are tinyrc.com and reflexracing.net.

MiniZ awd rims are useable but the d cut end where the rim fits to the axle needs a slight modification to fit the awd rim

It's worth the mod because it gives you way more options for wheel choice

Modding bodies to fit the Xmods chassis is simple usually. Mini-Zs use side clips, you'll need to cut those off and put a Xmods rear clip on the back and obviously a matching front clip to secure the body.

Mini-Z bodies are also lighter and they look better then Xmods. Plus, they have a decent selection of bodies

Yea, that would work. But once again, you'll need to modify the body to fit and adjust your chassis length. The body in the link would need the chassis be changed to the 90mm wheelbase setting.

Please, check up on the rules before posting, this is an old thread ! Bumping old threads are frowned upon here.

As for your question, all Xmods use the same size rims and tires with the exception of the trucks of course. Xmods rims are 10mm wide and 20mm tall I believe. You can easily check by measuring the dimensions with a ruler.
